"not really a review I guess, just a heads up. Called 
to see if he would be interested in putting some flashing around some windows I had replaced. He left a voicemail that stated, and I quote, "aint no sense in calling me back if you are in that Hampden area. Im not interested in coming down there." I guess professionalism is not high on the list for . The one thing I will say for him is that he did return my inquiry quite quickly. I dod not use him (can you guess why?) and his work could be quite good - I can not speak to that."

" Pickus, co-vice president with his business partner , arrived at my house exactly on time, bringing with him many samples of products available for what I told him over the phone that I wanted. My house is a big, old , so the number of squares needed for the siding project is around 30, meaning the type of siding that I want will be costly. I knew this is advance, but wanted to reassure me of the fact so I would not be surprised by the estimate, stating that if I were interested in typical vinyl siding the cost would be much lower. Overall, was great: professional, friendly, knowledgeable and gave the impression of being one of the good guys. I really wanted to hire , but in the end chose another angieslist contractor who offered a 20% discount on any siding project, which to me meant a savings of $6000--and too good to pass up. The other company is a bit bigger than and and can afford to offer such a discount. The savings has allowed me to contract for my entire project, including the back porch. However, because I had such a good impression of , I would recommend and would consider them again for my next project."

" was painting another home in our neighborhood. of stopped by to offer an on-the-spot estimate. I knew it was a great price based on research I'd already done on Angie's list. Accepted their bid in the a.m., by the afternoon they were prepping and power-washing our house, and they finished painting it the next day. They did a great job and from start to finish were a pleasure to deal with. They trimmed hedges to get to the siding, cleaned up beautifully. It all looks great!"

"We have a slate roof and copper gutters that were damaged badly in February. The slate tiles had snowguards attached, which were dragged down by the 38" of snow, taking over 80 tiles and the gutters down with them. We were away for much of March so we waited awhile to file a claim.
came out last month and gave us a prompt estimate which was significantly more than the insurance company first estimated. As it turns out, the insurance company came out in the rain and didn't get a good look at the damage. dealt directly with the insurance company, who quickly agreed to his price. After they agreed he ordered the parts and was out within a couple weeks working on the roof.
I can't say enough good things about . He does beautiful work - the roof and gutters look better than ever. He really went over and above the call of duty. For example, he moved existing tiles around to make the color pattern seem more uniform. He repaired a long length of rotted fascia board for free. He went back and rewelded a piece of the copper gutter because he didn't like the color of the original weld! I never would have noticed that - not in a million years.
He treats the house as if its his own. In fact, the work spanned a weekend so he came over early Sunday morning and took down the ladders and scaffolding so we wouldn't have to look at it all day. Wow. I was so happy I've already arranged for him to build a deck on the back of the house this summer."

" Whiting, the owner, was professional throughout the quote process, provided insurance information up front, and followed through on his when the project would be started and completed. The workers who performed the job finished ahead of schedule and did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier with the siding, the excellent job they did sealing the doors and windows as well as the cleanup. I will be using the . for an upcoming deck project."

"Price was consistent with work we had done previously and appeared to be good but I feel inadequate to rate it. What did pleasantly surprise me was that I called, left a message, was called back and the work was completed the same day. I was expecting a several day delay, at least. The work was done in a fine manner and the price quoted was all that was charged. No surprises! I would definitely use him again and recommend his service to others."

"I had several estimates for the work needed to get my newly purchased (old, 1935) house winter tight. was one contractor that came to my house to review the scope of work which at the time was a roof and siding. I knew I would need windows and was going to use another source, but happened to have some of his window samples with him and after checking them out I contracted him for the work.
The jobs went smoothly with four different crews performing the work. It took two days for the roof which was somewhat complex and very steep. The windows were completed during this time as well. had one crew for roofing and one crew for windows.
The siding and gutters where in the next phase, with two separate crews completed in two days.
The workmanship for all phases was very good.
Clean up was good but I might suggest using a magnetic roller to clean up roofing nails as I have found quite a few in the yard and driveway, but that happens on any job site.
Quality of the windows is great, I love them and would recommend them.
In conclusion, I believe I got more than I paid for by using as my contractor and was thrilled to be able to do all of the work as "one stop shopping".
Would recommend Whiting to a friend and have done so.

"Never looked at the area that required roof repair, never looked at the existing door frame to size it and was able give me a quote of a couple of thousand dollars. He indicated that he was busy. Well if you're busy that's fine...I would have preferred if he indicated that he was too busy to take on a job that would require a full day for him and his team. I've done this work in the past and I understand that its more labor intensive than material intensive. I would him rather have giving me a statement of work outlining cost and what he was going to do...Unless you have a small job that requires an hour or two of work, I don't think he is the right person for the job."

" gave us a very fair estimate. He was punctual and professional. did a great job. He was thorough, efficient and neat. Although painting is not one of the skills listed on Angie's List, he did an excellent job. This is the second job he's done for us. We're very pleased and will call him again."

(He's a high-powered salesman.)The two guys he sent to do the job worked consistently and conscientiously, with only a one-day break occasioned by mechanical trouble with a truck. I asked them if they would please check for baby birds in the vent before they capped it and if they found any to put them in a bucket for me to look after. They willingly undertook this task and carefully brought me an unhatched egg. Some of the work was quite difficult, involving, as it did, standing on a steeply sloping roof."
