Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Reviews

"I never met the team, but communicated with
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
via phone and email. I didn't need to be at home, which is great due to working and not wanted to take time off for outside work. The work was done on time and was quality. The weather didn't cooperate, but
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
kept me informed of the delays and showed up to finish the job as soon as the weather permitted.
"There was a bit of difficulty scheduling the service, as I had been hospitalized with pneumonia, and there was a day with excessively high winds.
However, once that was straightened out
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
was excellent. They even went the step beyond and turned off my exterior water after they finished the job. This was important to me as I am not yet permitted to to go up and down stairs often.
"First scheduled date was cancelled because of rain. Their next scheduled date was a day I could not be home. They washed and sealed the same day--not a very good job in my opinion. I would not use them again.

"The house looked really good when it was done. The major problem I had was the solution they used. It was a bleach solution and it made my entire house smell for 3 days. My wife was on maternity leave when the work was done. The smell was so bad she had to take the baby out of the house for the entire day. When she complained to the service provider he said he didn't smell anything and acted cold and uncaring towards her.
"Awful, I'm afraid. This work was done by
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
, who said he was a cousin of the family who owns Kargman's. I found the company on a service matching website and the company name I was provided was Kargman's Inc. in Reisterstown. The name on the agreement however was Kargman Inc./All Star with a Burtonsville MD address.
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
said something about being some sort of sub- or independent contractor because the main company didn't usually do this kind of work. The price for the work was very reasonable, but I think this was a case of getting what we paid for. I have had a lot of experience with home improvement contractors and all my alarm bells were going off here, but for some reason I forged ahead.
How did it go? I hardly know where to begin, but here goes:
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
came out and sold us the job with talk of how good he was (and I have usually had good results with the service matching website that recommended him). He wasn't able to show up for the agreed start day due to some issue with his truck, the hood of which he said flew up while he was driving and needed to be repaired. He finally came out and started with the pressure washing but had to stop because of problems with his compressor, which had to be repaired - another couple of days delay (and who doesn't have a spare compressor in this line of work?) I had expressed concern about the plants I had up against the fence as this work took place during the summer, but
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
had assured me there would be no damage to the plants. There were spots where he missed parts of the fence that plants grew against, even though I had given him large pieces of cardboard to push the plants away from the fence.
He assured me that I could choose from 3 stain colors that he would apply to a
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
area of the fence for my review. Well, the 3 colors became one, which I didn't like, so I got the stain brochure from Lowes and showed him which one I would like. He applied no sample to our fence, so I just had to go by the stain chips in the brochure. When he started spraying, he had made no attempt to cover or protect the plants, so I went out and ran ahead of him trying my best to cover and protect the plants from the sprayed stain. It was exhausting and certainly not what I was paying for. When he got to spraying the stain on the deck, I cautioned him strongly about not spraying any on the house as the siding is painted and couldn't be pressure washed clean. He put up paper with tape to protect the house, despite my warning that the paint on the house was easily removed with tape. Sure enough, when he went to remove the tape, portions of the paint were removed, showing the lovely original 1950's aqua color beneath. He did take one of the loose pieces of paint and go to Lowes to buy a small can of matching exterior paint, which I asked to apply instead of him - at this point I was just anxious to get him out of there.
The fence and deck didn't look too bad after he was finally done, and I wrote him a check for the balance of the job cost. I received a call from him the next day saying he had lost that check and would I write him a new one! I stopped payment on the first check and issued him a new one. My bank charged me $30 for the stop payment but I was fortunately able to negotiate it down to $0. I was so afraid he would
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
that one and I'd have to keep dealing with him, but it did go through without incident.
Now, a year later, the stain job doesn't look so good. The stain was applied unevenly, which was not really evident till it had weathered a bit. We will have to reapply stain, which we are going to do ourselves, because I can't bear to go through a process like this again.
I will say
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
appeared to sincerely want to do a good job, but he was his own worst enemy in regards to making that happen. He is very scattered and disorganized. I think if he hadn't been sincere, this review would be all F's. I don't know whether Kargman's Inc. is still letting him work under their name, but I'm hoping a year later that he's got his act more together. I know I won't be using Kargman's Inc. for any work in the future; it was their responsibility to make sure that their company was well-represented by their contractors. I don't care if someone is a relative, if they can't do a good job, they shouldn't be allowed to drag down the reputation of the company. Consider yourself warned.
" I called and scheduled the clealning. Understandably, they were busy due to the # of people purchasing the deal. However, we did schedule for a few weeks later. The workers arrived as scheduled and did a very good, professional job with the
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
. However, I was told that because I had previously stained the deck that clear seal couldn't be used and I would need to pay additionally for a color stain/sealer.
The deck needed to dry and the sealing scheduled. Several calls to the office
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
to the fact that it would cost another $250 for the stain/seal. First I was told that clear seal couldn't be used but after several calls about missed appointments for the sealing, I was told it could if I was OK with the uneven color on the deck.
I chose the clear stain. It is OK but not great looking. Rainy weather caused a long delay before the second crew came to seal the deck.
If this deal is offered again (or another one like it), I would strongly suggest that the description of the deal includes a disclaimer about decks that have been stained and that further cost may be involved for a satisfactory result.
"Great! Mr.
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
and his son are consummate professionals. He called me back within a few hours of my initial request and came by the next day for an estimate. He sat down with me to make sure that I was clear on what he could do and when. They arrived on time and I am extremely happy with the work. I HIGHLY recommend their services and would be happy to refer them to friends and colleagues."
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
guys were very responsive ;called immediately after my inquiry and came out the next day. They accommodated my schedule and the fact that I needed the work done before an upcoming event I was hosting. From the time I called to the time the work was completed was less than a week. Looks really good. The noise of the machine was a bit bothersome, but it took less than a couple of hours and after a while I forgot the noise. It was a bit on the pricey side but all in all, a job well done and I would definitely recommend them."
"- First, when I purchased the Wash and Clear Seal for $250,
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
asked me to purchase outside of the Angie's list deal since they would take 1/3 of his profit.

I agreed since it didn't matter to me...but, readers should keep in mind that was a mistake, since now I can't get a refund for their incomplete work. Someone with similar complaints posted a few days ago but they were able to get a refund since they bought through Angie's List. BE SURE TO PURCHASE THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST!!

- Scheduled wash for 9am on 3/27/12 with clear seal to be applied "the week after", which I interpreted to mean at latest on April 7th. I specifically scheduled informing
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
that we're having guests April 13 and told job would be complete by then. They showed up at around 1130 (2.5 hours late), which was inconvenient since we hadn't arranged to have to take the afternoon off from work, but we accommodated. We were told clear seal would be the following week (so we were thinking latest April 7th).

- The
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
job itself seemed good. Not amazing but no complaints at all.

- Around April 11th they came to put on the clear coat, but left a note saying that they couldn't do it since there was a car on the driveway that could get clear seal on it (turned out to be the cleaning service). We were never told to clear our driveway. In fact, when I asked
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
if they cover surrounding structures to protect them, he told he he's so good they don't need to protect surrounding structures. Also,
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
has my cell phone number, but apparently the person they sent was not given any contact information to reach us. So, they didn't call to try to get it resolved before leaving. (They just rang the doorbell and of course the cleaning lady didn't answer so they left).

I spoke with
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
and he rescheduled for April 13th. - April 13th clear coat was not done despite confirming with them that morning...and now, as of May 1st (over a month from the
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
) still NOT DONE. I never hear anything from
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
until I text/call him weekly... then he tells me it'll be done that week, and then it's never done.

- Currently over a full month later, the clear seal is not done. It's rained a few times, and there's dirt and bird droppings on the deck. we've already had our visiting family and 2 Spring get togethers for which we wanted it done in the first place, and it's hard for me to believe that a clear coat will be as nice/useful now a full month after the
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked

I should note that in all my communications with
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
, he has been very nice. But courteousness should not be mistaken with professionalism, which is the mistake I made.

Perhaps posting here will make them more interested in helping me. If they don't give me a refund, I will contact my credit card to try to get a refund (and the BBB).

After posting this, I spoke with
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
. He said delays were mainly due to rain, but this is hard to believe for a full month, and he should have been updating me.
He promised me to update me every 3-4 days whether or not the job was done. After that, I never got any updates unless I called him.
Once when I called, he said clear coat had been done, but it clearly hadn't.
Reportedly they put clear coat on the wrong address...twice.
Eventually, job was competed over 6 weeks after paying, and over 5 weeks after initially advised.
All of this suggests decent work and very poor organization.
If you go with them, make sure you have a lot of spare time and don't mind 6 weeks of scheduling headaches and stress.
I'm improving grade from D to C.
"Great job in all respects. Mr.
Baltimore Pressure Washing Services Provider Name Locked
was very punctual in coming out to give an estimate, and then in getting the job done. Although we had a lot of rainy weather that held him back, he came out as quickly as he could. He was perfectly polite and congenial at all times. He did not skimp or cut any corners. He used quality name-brand stain, and was even willing to get another brand if we wanted. All surfaces were brushed by hand, not sprayed. I wish all craftsmen provided such a great level of service at such a reasonable price!"
