Plastering Reviews in Baltimore

I called
and spoke with him about a quote to come out and give me an estimate. He came out on time and gave the estimate. I liked
's personality as well as his price so I signed the contract. The crew showed up on the agreed upon date and time.
's assistant
was in charge. 2 days into the project
called me and sad that they needed more cash to complete the "mud work." I asked him why since the contract called for 4 days of mud work and it was only 2 days into the project. He told me that they had actually given me 4 days of mud work and explained that a day of mud work was 1 man for 8 hours and since they had 2 men for 2 days I had actually gotten 4 days. I told him that I would talk to
about it. I called
and told him what happened. He told me that he understands what I'm saying and that it wouldn't be right to come back after the contract was agreed upon and he said that he would have to eat the cost that was asked for. I said good.
called me at the end of the week and said the job was complete. I went to inspect the job and found that in several areas the plaster work was not completed as agreed. I pointed these out to
and he replied that "I didn't want to spend any more money so this is it!" I looked at him and told him that I was going by what the contract said. I couldn't afford to wast any more time since I had an inspection coming up. A couple of days later I thoroughly inspected and found that a door that was supposed to be painted was not and did it myself. These are small issues but I feel that his contract needs to be specific when it talks about man hours. Explain to his potential customers what a "day" of mud work means. In my contract it specified $800-$1100 for mud work. I thought that would cover any additional monies that would be needed. I was really disappointed to find that
's guys hadn't fully completed the job as
and I had discussed. In any case, the job looks fairly good.

The work was well-done. However, the amount of time that was required for the job was significantly underestimated. The estimate was based on a description over the phone of the sizes of the areas affected by the water damage; perhaps it would have been more accurate if photos or in-person inspection had been done -- though even the person who arrived to do the work seemed to think it would take less than it did before he got into it.
The Bid Deal covered four hours worth of work, but even getting the job to a place where it was ready for painting (which I could take care of independently) required additional hours of labor at the regular ( higher) cost per hour. While I am happy with the finished product, it would have been nice to know up front that 4 hours was not close to covering the labor needed, even without re-painting.
The cost of the Big Deal was good -- but the regular cost per hour added on top lessened the deal.

I purchased an Angie's List coupon for $99 for 3 hours of plastering work with

. The plasterer,

, arrived on time as scheduled that morning. I showed him my living room plaster ceiling with a hole of about 10 inches in diameter with crumbling plaster surrounding it.

listened to my concerns when he told me he would be using a drywall patch and I protested that it was a plaster ceiling. He explained how he planned to repair it with drywall and of his 14 years of experience in the field. I trusted his respectful attitude and his experience and asked him to proceed. A trip to a hardware store was necessary to get extra drywall, but only a half hour of an hour and a half trip was included in the allotted time. The work was completed in several steps, with

explaining each step. It took awhile to complete the several layering process (fan drying was necessary between layers) but it was finished early that afternoon. The repair was the best I've ever seen (we've had this area "repaired" three times before)! The finish is smooth - perfect! One would never guess where the repair was done. I HIGHLY recommend

We were extremely pleased with

and Sons gave a fantastic estimate for repainting and retaping our hallway ($680), about half as much as anyone else we talked to. I was also impressed by the polite and friendly owner, who did the estimate. We set up an appointment and the painter was supposed to arrive between 7-8am. I called at 9:00 and was told he would be there within 20 minutes. I called at 10:00 and was told he would be there within 10 minutes. At this point I needed to get some work done and had to leave the house (I had warned them of this) and postponed the appointment. A few days later the painter showed up, right on time. However, when he looked at the wall, he said that simply retaping the hallway would not fix the problem, since there was a missing chunk of wall in the corner where the plaster and drywall walls met. He was absolutely sure that the tape would simply peel off again unless he filled in the gap with plaster. He was convincing and we paid the additional $400 to have him do that. My biggest problem here is that the OWNER of the company did the original estimate and seemed perfectly fine with simply retaping the wall. I believe the workman gave us sound advice, I'm just confused why the owner didn't see the same issue. We ended up spending quite a bit more than we intended (and had to decide within a few minutes, since the workman was standing there). However, I was quite grateful that the workman had done his job well, rather than just retaping and walking away from the problem.

We hired
Baltimore Plastering Contractors Provider Name Locked
to fix cracks in the plaster in six rooms in our home . The cracks were not large but before we painted we wanted a professional to correct these areas. the owner is very professional and pleasant. He was correcting the helper while doing the job. I'm quite sure he has a new helper because he wasn't very happy with his work.

came to estimate the job but the work was done by 2 other guys.
Baltimore Plastering Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed up on time with them, explained what they were going to do. They covered EVERYTHING with plastic so there was no mess! The job looks really great! Now I just have to paint... but that wasn't part of the deal. And in the end, I had to leave before they finished, but I was not nervous about that.. and everything was still in its place when I got home.. I'd definitely recommend

They stand behind their work. After they finished, a few days later I saw that there was a bit of a bleed through. I called them and they sent somebody back and fixed it. He does really give good service.

This house has the old fashion plaster walls and there was some areas in both the Kitchen and Foyer that needed filled in. This company came out did the fill ins was very professional and prompt when doing their work, I will be calling them again.

I called on a Friday, got estimate and committed to job the following Tuesday. Work started the following Thursday, when he took down the old ceiling and installed new railings, and was completed the next day, when he installed 2x2 ceiling tiles and light. A slight delay because new florescent lights take a (new) T8 bulb, not the old T11 bulb. Work started at 10 a.m., finished around 3:30, giving me time for my pursuits morning and afternoon. Cleanup could have been better; there were some plaster bits underneath counters and such, but I could have done more clearing of the floor myself. He was friendly, quiet, efficient, professional, and concerned for safety in my somewhat suspicious neighborhood, careful to close and lock doors. He also, without my asking, fixed a hard-to-close door.
