Baltimore Hospitals Reviews

"They were always there even though I went late on Christmas Eve. There was staff there to take care of me immediately. They were thorough and called in the staff needed for the situation. I have nothing bad to say about their doctors and nurses. I give them straight As for their work. When it looked like I wasn't going to make it, they still told me family that it would be a 50-50

"Very impressed with hospital and staff. Attended orientation session offered for joint replacement patients, which was well-done and very informative. Dealings with all staff (especially

"They are the greatest thing that ever happened. I was there for 6 weeks. They are super. They put in a new artificial aorta and new artificial valve. The surgeon apparently was the best in the world and he surely was. The other thing that impressed me about them was the

of the staff. They are so happy and proud to be there. The entire place exudes prides. It is probably the number one hospital in America. You can hear them laugh in the hallway. I will use them again in the future. "

"I would just refer the last visit to them, when my dad passed away. There was very little communication, very short staff and did not follow through properly. They were kind of dismissive of inquiries and I never saw the doctor. He ended up with an infection which they did not diagnose for 4 ? 5 day and that actually caused his demise. It was the surgeon?s fault and then the follow up care as well. Those people should have been more responsive when I raised the issue, but, they looked to be dismissive. If people would have been more careful, they would have got the issue and saved my father. The availability of the staff was very less and I did not see the doctor at all. He didn?t even come in everyday to check on him. However, the hospital was nice, had brand new neurology room which is where my dad was and the facility was just beautiful. "

"Overall my experience was good. After my water broke and I went to the hospital, I got through the registration process in about three minutes. The registration lady was very professional. The triage process was not too good. The midwife conducting the triage exam was a bit rude and dismissive. The nurses however were fabulous, I can't say enough about them. My labor nurse stayed with me for over 2 1/2 hours straight (my labor progressed A LOT quicker than expected). The nurses in the mother-baby unit were often busy and sometimes it took over 2 hours to have them respond to a request (technicians were much quicker). When they did respond though they were fantastic. It was obvious they were very overworked. My biggest complaint was with their labor policies. For example, once your water breaks you're not allowed to leave you bed. I thought this was crazy. On the plus side they have birthing tubs if you choose to use them (although I heard they were not allowing water births anymore for liability reasons), and mobile fetal monitoring. The childbirth instructor was extremely knowledgeable and informative. If I have another child, I will likely go there again but mostly for the doctors and nurses. They are fantastic."
