Door Installation Reviews in Baltimore

I needed two exterior doors replaced because I had these terrible wooden doors that were cracked and you could see outside through them. I had 4 companies come out to give me estimates, and incidentally, all the companies use the same door manufacturer and doors. In spite of this, I got wildly different estimates from all the companies.
gave me the best price, far and away. The sales experience was very pleasant. There were no demands that I sign a contract that day or I would
the price (as another company did). He did not try to upsell me on fancy handles that I did not need or want. The salesman was just very honest and straightforward, which I appreciated. I ended up buying the doors, and they came out promptly with the contract and to do the measuring. The doors were ordered. The installers were great. It was an all day job. They were prompt and protected my floors from their work and cleaned everything up afterward. The doors look great. I had a couple of minor issues that I will mention in the interests of doing a thorough review. The doors ended up taking over 8 weeks because apparently the door manufacturer closes for 2 weeks over the holidays.
did inform me of this around the holiday time so it was not unexpected but if you order around this time be prepared for a delay. They only do installations during the week so if you have job issues it is good to know this. Finally, the person who runs the communications in the office is a little not on top of things. I was told I would get an email every week updating me on my project status, and in the 8 weeks I think I got 3 or 4 emails. The emails continuously referenced my windows, when I bought doors. When I got the email about how to prepare for my installation, it was how to prepare for a window installation. I emailed the girl back and was like, "OK, but I ordered doors" and she never responded with the proper information. These issues, however, were minor in the grand scheme of things. The salesman, the measurer, and the installers were great and so it compensated for the communcations problems with the lady in the office. I am pleased with the quality of the work and the price was so much better than the other companies. In addition, I really appreciated the low-pressure sales approach. If you do good work at a good price, you don't need to be pushy, and
seems to understand that. I would use them again.

dismantled and removed the existing doors and framework from my condo cleanly and efficiently. They then installed all new doors and frames taking care to minimize impact on walls and wood floors.I was impressed with their knowledge and skill, their professionalism and customer service. They were pleasant and patient in dealing with our maintenance staff who stopped by to assess the activity. My doors are level, well seated in the doorways. They went out of their way to cleaned up, even crawling on their knees in the hall to vacuum up every bit of wood dust. I am very pleased with the job done.

Door Installation reviews in Baltimore

It took a while for
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
to come out and give me an estimate. To be fair, he told me that he was quite busy and that I would have to wait a little. Once everything was agreed on, he came with his crew as promised. The job was done timely. They cleaned up and put things back the way they found them. They even offered to paint back the area around the door. I called them to come back and fix the lock on the outside door as it was a little hard to lock. They came back within days and fixed it. This company has been doing work for me for about 10 years now. I have been satisfied each time.

All the work with done quickly and very professionally. There were some tasks on my list that were out of the scope of their services and they recommended that I conatct a specialist in those cases; I really appreciated that advice. Just another sign of their professionalism. I would call them again in the future and highly recommend them.

’s team performed a full remodel on our condo this past fall. This was a total gut job that included a redesigned kitchen layout, two completely new bathrooms, relocated main electrical panel, 21 new recessed light fixtures, new wood flooring, replacement closet doors (requiring existing walls to be moved/revised) and installed full closet organizers, TV's hung on wall. We’ve only tried remodeling one room years ago and it was a disaster – we wound up finishing the job ourselves. Based on that experience we were very nervous going into this project, but our living space needed a full overhaul. We had met with
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
various times prior to the start of project and he was very thorough in ascertaining our requirements.
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
provided a detailed estimate on exactly what his team would be doing room by room, arrived everyday like clockwork at 7:30AM for the entire length of the project and completed everything specified on the estimate 100%. At the end of the project, he produced a change request for items that we added on as the work progressed and a credit memo for items that we decided not to do.
One thing that I was really impressed with early on in the project: we hit a snag with our recessed lights which I discussed with
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. I then spoke with the electrician; I opted for what I thought was the most cost effective solution which really wasn't what I wanted. First thing, the next morning,
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was calling me saying " that's not what you want - get it right, we can fix drywall in our sleep". Net, net, I've got the correct recessed lights, did not cost me extra and I don't look at the ceiling and grind my teeth :).
This was a great experience and my husband and I absolutely love our new space. I would use
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
again without hesitation for any future projects.

Contacted MHIC to provide an estimate on repairing/replacing a door. Scheduled an appt. but they never showed nor did they phone. I called that afternoon to see if they were delayed or had to cancel for some reason. I left a voice mail but nobody ever contacted me. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I recommend that people look elsewhere for assistance.

The initial consultation
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
had good suggestions for window styles and the estimator
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
made sure that with
all these changes we planned to do to this termite damaged house, we did not do anything structurally stupid. The work exceeded my expectations. The 6 man window and door crew lead by
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
did a fantastic job. All window trim had some damage and in several cases there was major structural damage due to termites and water to headers and frames. In those cases it required a complete tear out of the frame and header and replacing the wood. The extreme case of 1 bedroom, some of the floor joist was replaced. The carpentry work was awesome. (Workmanship fantastic and liberal use of wood and screws). The crew did not mind me taking pictures, asking questions or making comments. Since I was obsessed with making sure all rotted wood was removed, all gaps foamed and caulked, I was pleasantly surprised that they did this without any prodding. All windows except basement hoppers were triple pane low e glass Vinymax windows that met the energy star rating. Doors were super high quality Provia which also met energy star rating. All doors and windows were checked for proper operation and adjustments were made to get a few to close properly. Although there is a lifetime warrantee on all components it was best to get everything functional up front. All external wood was capped. They did a beautiful job with this including matching the pattern in the brickmold below it. The siding crew lead by
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
also did a high quality job. Do to the questionable existing wall insulation, we went with the insulated cedar ridge siding to increase the R value of the wall and decrease infiltration. Originally looking to reduce heat transfer, the siding looked great. They did a great job interfacing to the new windows and existing brick.
Both window and siding crews did a few extra favors like removing the window AC and replacing some light fixtures that I supplied. The site was left thoroughly clean which I don't care about but most people do. My parents were happy with the ease in which they could open and close the windows and doors. Also initial checks with a hand held IR thermometer shows a big improvement over the existing leaky windows and doors.

I had previously written a positive review of my experience with
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
with the purchase and installation of some windows but now I would not use the company again. I had
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
come to my house to do an estimate to replace two entry doors. The salesperson upgraded certain items without telling me about the less fancy and less pricey options (for example, selecting ornate door hardware when simpler hardware was available (which I found out when I met with another company who sells the same brand of doors and was infinitely more up front with me about options). I was given a price that was very high, and then told if I didn't sign the contract THAT DAY I would not get the deal again (which they also did when they sold me my windows and I complained in my review of that tactic then). I told him very firmly that I would not be signing anything that day. He refused to leave me a written estimate and said they would be emailing me. I don't really blame the salesman. He was obviously following the company protocol because the stuff he did was similar to my window salesperson's.
I got estimates from 3 other companies, including another A-rated Angie's List provider that I will be reviewing when the services were done.
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's price was over $1000 more than the other company's (and they use the same door manufacturer). The other companies who did the estimates did not try to force me into signing a contract that day. And they left me with a paper copy of the estimate. So I went with the less expensive company that is A-rated. I did not receive an email copy of an estimate until yesterday (over a week after the estimate was done and after I contracted with another company) and the estimate was then only for one door, with a much better price than I was offered at the onset (but still more expensive than the other company). Of course they told me if I didn't sign a contract by the next day then I would
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
the price.
So overall, their sales tactics are utterly pushy and disgraceful, and their price sucked. I guess they push people to sign contracts so they don't realize they can get a better price with another company. In my opinion, if you cannot offer the best price off the bat without arbitrary deadlines, and be secure in the knowledge that you are the best provider with the best price to allow the customer time to double check elsewhere, then you are not a company I want to do business with again. Which is unfortunate for them, because after the doors are replaced I will be looking to have the rest of my windows replaced. So two jobs they missed out on by being, in my opinion, overbearing and pricey.

Update: After I emailed
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
to tell them how I find their sales techniques obnoxious and specifically stated that I did not blame the salesperson as he was merely following
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
's protocol, I got a card in the mail from the salesman (except in a woman's handwriting) apologizing for making my sales experience bad. I find this reprehensible that they allow their salesmen to take responsibility for policies and practices that are clearly not their fault. If
Baltimore Door Installers Provider Name Locked
wants to apologize, perhaps the person who implements their terrible sales policies should apologize instead of scapegoating the salesmen. In fact, I emailed the Vice President of sales to express my dissatisfaction and never got a reply. If I could give them an F-minus for this I would.
