"I called and got an appointment for the next morning. He called to say he was running about 5 minutes late. He climbed up on the roof to inspect the chimney stacks and showed me digital photos of the situation while he explained. He identified the problem that was allowing the birds down (no mesh on the cap) and also alerted me to a far more significant ...more problem with a closed off fireplace that was providing venting for the boiler. He was describing what hypothetically could be the problem and I asked if he would mind taking a look at the basement to see. He said sure, and wound up taking some of the piping apart to get a really good look at how much damage there was. (There wasn't a cap on the other chimney at all, and it was a steel liner so the rain was rusting the whole thing out). He was honest about the fact that I could put off dealing with the situation for several years but that it could cause serious problems at that point. He gave detailed recommendations and a quote for the future work immediately. I think he spent two hours at my house. I felt like I got a huge value for $75 and he answered all of my questions and left all the information I might need to make a good decision about what to do about my larger problem in the future in writing. I will absolutely call them again."

"The company's website lists a free 17 point roof inspection that includes attic and insulation inspection. I called and arranged an appointment for that. --who was very nice-- came out to the house and thoroughly inspected the roof and looked at the attic. He could not inspect the insulation because he said he didn't do that ...more sort of work, he just dealt with the roofing. He told me my roof looked fine for the next couple of years and that he would not recommend any unnecessary repairs, he only recommended flashing repair around the chimney. I had him add resealing the gutters because I was aware of them leaking. He quoted the price and I agreed to have the work done. I was called to schedule the work and two other guys came and did it. Everyone I spoke with during the process was nice. I'm just not sure how competitive the prices are. The work seems fine, although I'm not actually going to go to the roof to check it out."

"The company I hired this year has completed the work and could not understand why Sweep did not do the sides of crown and use flex-crown. A year later, the job is finally completed and looks good as well. UPDATE: I had a new chimney company pull out the wood insert that 's put in. ...more I had complained about it when they installed it that it rattled and wasn't installed correctly. When the new company pulled it out, one of the holes they had drilled had been drilled a couple of times and the bolts were not holding, and on the other side they drilled into the mortar and not the brick. The insulation that was behind and around it had all dropped. They did not do a good install job."
