and they had nothing but great things to say about them. In my opinion,
ROCKS!!. His knowledge is amazing! I went to my new house not knowing a ...more thing about septic systems to knowing how it works, where it's located and any warning signs that it might need servicing. I especially appreciated
' patience with me as I asked a ton of questions.. I highly recommend
and will use them again in the future. "

was terrific! He quoted me a price. He explained what work would be preformed in detail and then preformed the work. I would use
again! Extremely knowledgeable and honest.

"I phoned and explained that the tank had not been pumped in several years and was possibly over flowing. I was quoted $400 over the phone to pump our tank.
$95 service call (was not disclosed until work completed. Vendor could not explain what a "service charge" is and why it was being charged.)
$170 to cut foliage ...more in order to get to tank
3 men 30 minutes
$800 to pump what he claims was 2500 gallons
competition is FAR LESS they claim they could not get up my drive with a large truck so had to bring 2 small ones. We had a 30 foot semi the week before. This claim was ridiculous.
$270 for moving the slush around (??)
5% (he could not explain this charge)
Our pump was broken and when the gentleman came to fix he told me that he had numerous complaints about this company from clients. When I checked what i was charged with the competition I had been grossly overcharged.
I complained to pop a lid, BBB, YELP and one of their suppliers. They sent me a refund of $235. Although that amount was not an equitable settlement I preferred not to argue any longer.
on a Friday afternoon when the toilet and bathtub in our house poured dirty water into our house. He was in the middle of another job right then, but took the time to give me some ideas as to how to dislodge the clog in the line, in case it was a
job. It wasn't.
...more to come out Monday morning, And he was there right around 9am. He and his assistant
sent a snake-type thing through the pipe and cleared the problem area right out. He did say that there might be other things causing the clog since there was some resistance, and that the same thing might happen in a few months, but he installed a cap to the over-flow pipe that will let water into our yard instead of into our house. We agreed that he would come out and dig up the pipe at a later time to investigate the problem further, but at a time when we could plan to not need the septic tank.
explained things very clearly to me, asked if I had any further questions about our septic tank in particular and septic tanks in general, and charged me what I considered a very fair price. I will definitely call him back the next time I need the tank pumped out "
"Hard to schedule and I had to call them a couple of times, once to ask if they were coming and when. They didn't seem to know, since the truck was way up north from me. I suggested they reschedule when they have other jobs in my area. Then on re-schedule I suggested that we re-schedule again due to the icy weather and closed roads. They agreed ...more they didn't want their trucks out on the ice.
When they finally came, the guy dug a little to expose the tops which were from 1993. One top was cracked, so he said they both needed to be replaced. He pumped the tanks and said someone would get back to me to replace the covers with the newer green ones.
I called their office and asked them to estimate cost and get out to replace the older tops. The woman who answered said that someone would call me back right away. No one ever called back. Guess they are more than busy just pumping which they are good about.
After waiting a couple of days for them to call, I looked up Ausitin Septic Supply Company, Inc. on Hwy. 620 and went there to get what was needed. They were very helpful.
I'm 70 yrs old, but decided to do it myself. Not a huge deal, but if a company advertises they 'repair septics', then they should be able to do it or at least call back and give advice on who might or where to go to get the parts to do it myself. don't bother waiting for this company to call. Just put on your big girl pants and "Do it!" "
"I was really impressed by their outstanding service. They were easy to get on the phone and arrived on time. They cleaned up after themselves and were very careful around some equipment I had in the yard. They were also polite with my family, which I very much appreciate. The section of sewer line they had to replace was bigger than expected, but they ...more stuck to the original quote and did a great job. "
sent his son who went to the wrong house then accused me of not being there even though my husband and I were up waiting since 7am in the morning. I said he must have the wrong house when I asked him to discrib the house it was indeed not my house. He said did not want to bother with ...more people like us that waste his time.
was very rude I felt very amazed by the whole insident. Unprofessional does not even come close, frightening does. "
promptly arrived at 11:30 with the rooter snake but without any of the other tools he would need to do the job.
did not bring rock crusher, dirt digger, pipe cutter, extension cord or a level. Without the necessary tools, the rocks had to be crushed by hand and the digging had to be done by hand which ...more required many additional hours.
replaced a PVC pipe that was not broken but was not draining to septic. He replaced the pipe without a level, saying that he forgot his level at the last job but that he had a "good eye" for leveling! Laying a pipe that must drain without using a level is totally unprofessional and I fear that the line has not been adequately fixed.
One of the worst moments in my experience with the Provider was trying to pay him as he was finishing. After laughing at my attempt to guess how much to pay him and refusing to tell me exactly how much he wanted; he then stated that a plumber charges $150 per hour, even though the bulk of hours he expended were due entirely to his own fault in not bringing the right tools to the job. There was no invoice or receipt provided for the $1300 check I gave him.
The provider left a horrible mess in my yard. First, he dumped raw sewage in my yard and threw hardened cement over the fence line. PVC cutting debris along with clumps of mud and sewage were strewn all over my driveway and sidewalks.
"I found Bill on Angie's List, called and spoke to Bill, set a time for him to arrive and pump our septic tanks. He not only personally answers his calls, but arrived promptly as scheduled. Thank you Bill and thank you Angie's List! Bill has been placed on our contractor list for ALL future needs!
Onsite Septic had been servicing this property up until that point. I shopped out the annual maintenance and
was ~$50 less expensive per year so I awarded them my business.
came out on a regular basis to service my Perc Rite ...more septic system - I didn't have any complaints with them at the time. Earlier this month the alarm light went off on my septic and
out to troubleshoot - it's at that point that I came to realize that
was not in a position to provide me with the right level of support.
The tech performed some basic troubleshooting tests but had to call a 800 number for the manufacturer as he was unsure as to why my septic was having issues. The tech was unable to get a hold of anyone for quite some time and when he finally did get a hold of a live representative he made some changes which did not fix the issue. The tech left 6 hours later and my tanks started overflowing with septic liquid the next day.
the owner and was given a bid for ~$800 to replace 5 different components. Moreover, in
's bid he noted that this might not fix the problem but would help them isolate the issue. Based on my observations of the tech's familiarity with my Perc Rite systems and
's bid I decided to cut my losess and have the folks from
come out to fix the problem - that was the best move I could have made.
came out at realized that I only have 1 drain field, hence they could use the working parts form zone 2 to replace the broken parts in zone 1. They then capped of the piping for zone 2 since it's not in use. The
tech then fished one of the pipes and unstuck a value which was contributing to the issue. Net is that
spend a few hours on the job and I didn't have to spend any money on parts replacement. Total for the day was $417 whereas
wanted ~$800 w/ no guarantees that my issue would be fixed. Moreover,
fixed a leak in a pipe near as air release value - that wasn't in
's bid so I would have had to have paid extra for that.
Note that I asked the
tech why the zone 2 controls in the control box were taped closed with 'do not use' written under the switches and he simply shrugged his shoulders saying that he didn't know. It's crazy to think that the
tech didn't know that I only had one drain field - if he would have realized that I expect that
would have given me a different quote - but who knows.
My lesson here is that you get what you pay for - and when it comes to high end septic systems (like the Perc Rite) you should pick the best. I cancelled my contract with
on Monday and have since moved my annual maintenance agreement over to
