On the day of the surgery, I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled start time of 7:30AM, checked in and was immediately taken to the pre-op area. Nurses verified the wrist that was to have the surgery and cleaned it once more and at least one of them kept me company until they began administering the anesthesia. After the operation, a nurse stayed with me and monitored my vital signs until they were normal. They also allowed my sister into the recovery area and the nurse stayed and talked with us until I was good to go. She gave us a packet with post-op instructions and then went over everything verbally -- Reviewing when and how to take the pain medication and what the side effects might be and pointing out phone nos. to call if any issues arose.

All the personnel in the surgery center were very friendly and caring.
I'm self-pay (don't use insurance) and there were some issues with the invoicing, but all of them were easily resolved and I paid the original estimate. The surgery center has a 50% "prompt pay" discount.

Their practice excellent. They were on time and everything was really good. They really like him at the hospital, he gives really good care and I think he practically has
the patients on one weekend. He does a lot of hip surgeries. The office environment was very nice. His communication is very good, explains everything very well and he takes time with you. The effectiveness of his treatment is perfect, I can walk on that hip now. He said 3 weeks and it was 3 weeks.

Hip surgery was successful. Frontal incision was made only approx. seven inches! Doctor made no restrictions except not to fall! But patient should ask questions regarding care to take in bending, walking, etc. Upon dismissal, some physical therapy was ordered by physician, as well as advanced therapy. There seemed to be excellent liaison with the

Hospital and staff. Doctor's office staff helpful and efficient. Everything went smoothly, I was never urged by anyone to leave hospital sooner than I thought advisable.

My son had knee surgery earlier in the year, which was fine, but we struggled with some communication issues with their billing office. The insurance company paid certain amounts that TX Ortho also billed me for. Unfortunately, TX Ortho did not automatically refund my overpayment, and it took numerous calls to get the situation corrected.
...More /> I had a similar communication issue with their administrative department myself. I had an injury that was thought to be a workman's comp claim, and they cancelled my first appointment when they found out it wouldn't be filed through my regular health insurance carrier.. Then, I had to wait about 8 weeks to get a rescheduled appointment; I was told that there was a lot of paperwork that they had to take care of before I could be seen. However, the insurance company told me that they had immediately given TX Ortho approval to see me. Additionally, the forms they sent in to the insurance company were consistently incorrect. I had to check everything and make many calls to get the information recorded correctly. Although the insurance company recommended that I use these people, they warned me that they are very slow to respond.

Once I got in, the actual medical care has been fine. I will use them again in the future because they are really the only game in town. However, I advise others to carefully check billing against insurance claims and stay on top of any documentation. It requires extra work to deal with their administrative processes.

He was excellent. His pre-operative counseling and his post operative care, and the operation itself were quite successful. He’s pretty good. I will use his services again in the future.

I would recommend her to the others. My daughter had a shoulder problem and she went to Dr
Austin Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. The doctor diagnosed it when nobody else could figure out what the problem was and she recommended help and therapy. It was wonderful and I can’t recommend her enough. It’s very easy to get appointments. She just opened her practice last year. Her office environment is terrific. They’re absolutely perfect with punctuality for appointments. I was really happy with her bedside manner. She solves any problems. I have no problems with the billing and administration. That’s all you can ever hope for. I have recommended her to everybody. I will absolutely use her services again in the future.

I researched an orthopedic guy in the area ( Round Rock/

) and came up with Dr. Seade's website. He is a specialist in shoulders and I am a retired R.N. and don't go to a doctor without a recommendation and positive research. I made an appointment for my rotator cuff problem that I had had for almost a year. I had no insurance and wasn't getting medicare until September. Dr. Seade diagnosed a frozen shoulder or also called a encapsulated shoulder. He gave me cortisone injections and x-rays and an order for P.T. He was very careful about the fact that I had no insurance and gave me the injections without extra charge other than the amount charged for the visit,. He also told me to go to P.T. once or twice and then do the exercises at home instead of having to pay $100/ P.T. visit.

When I was still having pain 2 months late, I went to his website and was able to contact him about the problem. He returned the message telling me to come to the office the very next day. He was able to solve my problem and I am now just about pain free. He is the only physician that in my 64 year, I have been able to contact and inform him/her my exact problem and what I needed without a 3rd party interpretation.
HE HAS BEEN WONDERFUL.

The good: the office and equipment is very modern, the physician's assistant who did the work was personable and explained things well and the treatment was effective. The bad: I was kept waiting repeatedly, starting with the appointment starting late and then being moved around and having to wait for the next person at each point. After the visit, my insurance company denied the entire claim, asking for more information. It seems odd that a practice like this would not know how to satisfy the insurance company on first go. I called the doctor's office and was told there was no problem and it took them some time to understand that while I had paid them at the time of the visit, I was not being covered by the insurance company -- they had to give more detail to the insurance company. This was more than 2 weeks after the insurance company sent a request to them asking for more information. A follow-up appointment was scheduled while the first claim of almost $800 was pending so I asked to it to be postponed. Eventually, the insurance company agreed to cover all but the cost of the x-

, $125. I called the doctor's office again and was told they would file an appeal, "on my behalf", which they never did. Note that the insurance company says that the doctor is responsible for this and they must refund the money according to their agreement. When I knew that most of the amount was covered, I scheduled another appointment which had to be weeks in advance because of the doctor's schedule. That was supposed to happen today. I arrived on time for my 8:45 AM appointment and signed in. At 9:05, I asked the receptionist when I would be seen and was told in 5 minutes more. After 10 more minutes, I went back again and one of the receptionists went in the back to talk to someone and as she came back, so did an attendent who called me. I asked if I would be seeing the doctor now or be put in a room to wait more. (Note that this is more than 25 minutes after the appointment which was for 8:45 AM.) I was told I would be put in a room to wait for the doctor who would see me when he was ready. I asked her to have the doctor call me and at 5:30 PM, he has not. It is worth pointing out that when I asked about the doctor's tardiness, I was given looks that suggest that I was being unreasonable in some way. While nothing was said, the attitude was clear. So I am still out $125 for unnecessary treatment and am looking for another doctor who is at least competent to maintain calendar integrity and can handle routine insurance matters. I cannot recommend this physician or his practice with Texas Orthopedics.

Walks on water! His PA remarked to me that Dr.
Austin Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
would probably keep replacing hips, even if he weren't paid to do so - and I believe him. One of only two docs in
Austin Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
using the anterior procedure, which requires less cutting and almost no rehabilitation. Uses the

buildup ("I've replaced a lot of hips, but yours is the one I'm most excited about."), and I believe that too. I cannot say enough good things to do justice to Dr.

. The man loves his work, and it shows. I was in less pain immediately post-op than when I went in, and have gotten steadily better from that point. I'm 63, very active, and very grateful for this procedure.

Dr.
Austin Orthopedic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
performed two arthroscopic knee surgeries (one on each knee) over a 6 week period. He is a skilled professional doctor with excellent communication skills. When I leave his office, I feel "cared for." A+++ on the bedside manner. The first surgery was perfect with a really fast recovery -- apparently this was not usual, because it's been six weeks since the second surgery and I'm not healing so quickly, but there was a lot more extensive damage in the second knee so I am going to trust that it will heal in time. He did not refer me for post-surgical physical therapy on either knee, so if you are not motivated to do your own exercises, be sure to ask for PT. His nurse

is also super nice and returns phone calls quickly. He's pretty young (maybe in his early to mid 30s?) so don't feel worried that he doesn't have enough experience ... he did a great job for me and I was really happy with him.
