"I made the appointment for the preventive maintenance the week before. Arise called me the evening before to verify the appointment. 
called when he was enroute and gave me an estimated arrival time. He arrived within ten minutes of actual appointment time. While performing the maintenance he advised me of the overall conditions of both units and our duct work and he recommended future maintenance are repairs to prevent failure.
We also used one time last year and the service was the same quality. Sorry I don't remember the details."

"My outdoor unit made some rather loud and unsettling noises before shutting itself off on the evening of 5/9/2011 so I checked around Angie's list and found Dash. When I called after 6 or 7 in the evening I thought I was going to get a voice mail or an answering service to set up for an appointment on the next day but after I left my information with the lady I received a call from a technician who was about to dispatch that night! Since I didn't think it was that urgent and did not want to pay overtime charges I had him send the request back to the office for an appointment during normal business hours. The next morning the office called to schedule and advised that very likely they wouldn't be able to get anyone out as they had 8 service calls ahead of mine. and behold I get a call about an hour later that a technician is on his way! It was the same technician I spoke with on the phone the night before and he was very knowledgeable, thorough and courteous and ultimately found that my outdoor unit just hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long (I only recently purchased the house and haven't gotten around to a third of the things that need taken care of). The reason I was reminded to write this review was the follow up call I just received where Dash wanted to know if there were any further issues or comments and also to report that initially the Angie's list discount had not been applied but they took care of it proactively! I am very pleased with this service and will definitely call them again for any further issues."

" came out to diagnose our Air Conditioning. The 2nd floor,
serviced by a 2-ton unit, was running almost continuously, while not
cooling the upstairs adequately. He determined that the evaporator coil
in the attic was leaking freon and needed to be replaced. We had the
choice of replacing the coil, or the entire A/C system, which would
allow us to upgrade to a more energy-efficient design. The cost of a
new higher-efficiency system was so much more than replacing just the
coil (we had replaced the outside unit 2 1/2 years ago), that we opted
for the coil replacement.

the old coil and installed a new one, carefully sealing the unit and
upgrading to meet new code requirements.
The A/C upstairs now runs great. It cools the 2nd floor better than we've experienced in many years and runs much less.

"My experience with from start to finish was extraordinary. This February, my 23-year-old HVAC system was in need of repair--again. I called based on Angie's List recommendations and phone calls to several local companies. The tech who did the repair mentioned their free energy efficiency analysis and the energy rebates that were about to expire. I'd had an energy audit done by another company several years ago, but they reported no issues--even though I had electric bills topping $200 in the summers for my 1,500 square-foot house. I decided to have do another analysis, which turned out to be not
only the right thing to do, but also one of the best, most positive consumer decisions I've ever made.
I had never had a new HVAC system installed and was a little
overwhelmed by the options and the process, but my initial experience with 's Comfort Advisor, ,
is what sold me on . His expertise, integrity, and commitment to doing
what's right for the customer are evident, and the end results confirm that his
assessment and recommendations were right on target.
conducted the initial energy efficiency analysis and coordinated the HVAC and insulation installation and the city's energy pre- and post-installation audits, keeping me updated throughout the project. He spent hours
meticulously analyzing my entire house, patiently answering all my
questions, and clearly explaining the remediation needed, the available rebates and tax credits, and the financing options. In spite of his extremely packed schedule, he even offered to meet me at my job the day I placed the work order so we could finalize
the rebate paperwork in time for me to qualify. He also made time to be on site for
the pre- and post-installation audits and to check on the furnace/AC installation. He checked in with the crew by phone when he had obligations elsewhere to help troubleshoot complications with the furnace installation and pressure testing. He also worked with a manager to authorize overtime for the crew to complete the duct repair work, which ended up taking two extra days--yet at the same cost that I had originally been quoted. Finally, while inspecting the attic during the post-installation audit, he and the city auditor discovered that the flue venting carbon monoxide from my gas water heater through the attic had been dislodged--probably years ago during a roofing job, but undetected until now. made sure that the flue was securely reconnected before proceeding with the audit, very likely safeguarding my family's health, if not our lives. We are so grateful to him for this.
The furnace and A/C installation team, and ,
spent an entire day replacing my old AC unit and wrestling my huge, disgusting old furnace out and my new furnace into some pretty tight
quarters--but I heard not a word of aggravation or complaint. returned later to re-size the return air vent and do some final adjustments on the installation, including replacing woodwork that had been chipped in the process. They were
skillful and professional.
The ventilation/insulation team, and , were incredible.
They worked overtime for three and a half days, barely stopping for lunch, to
install weatherstripping and new ducts and vents in my converted
garage, and new insulation throughout the attic. Before installing the insulation, they ran repeated pressure tests on the ductwork, which kept coming out four times above the allowable maximum. re-checked every inch of the ductwork in the attic until he discovered a massive leak by old wrapped insulation that not only would have tanked the post-installation audit, but also has been wasting
an unthinkable amount of energy and money for years. (He was able to
drop the test numbers from over 400 to 83.) His determination to do whatever it took to solve the problem was exceptional. And again, although the task was exhausting and frustrating,
I heard not one word or even a of aggravation or complaint. and are a positive, professional, problem-solving machine. They even stayed late to install the correct furnace flue and test the furnace so I could run it that weekend.
I have been badly burned by contractors in the past (before discovering Angie's List), and I was truly astonished by the expertise, positive attitude, and genuine commitment to customer
service I found in each of the staff I met, consistently going well above and beyond my expectations. I feel as if I've got extended family looking out for me and my home and family. They've earned a customer for life."

"Excellent! Very excellent!! A home inspection determined that all 5 AC's needed both routine maintenance and also repairs. , the owner, and his crew were fabulous. They were always on time, polite, and very efficient. Their work was excellent, and I especially appreciated that they did not try to sell me on expensive, unnecessary repairs. Quite the contrary! worked hard to determine exactly what was causing one unit to shut off, and then recommended the least costly repair. He even followed up several days later to make sure the solution was continuing to work (I was supposed to call him, but had totally forgotten). Throughout the several contacts I had with , every person was friendly and helpful. Air System's dedication to hard work, high quality, and excellent service is commendable. Would I recommend them to others? Yes! I already have!"

" 's sales person was very good in providing details about and helping make use of the Energy program and also very responsive in providing Manual J load calculations at the customer's request ( 's owner apparently did the Manual D duct layout and sizing calculations for the upstairs system, and they have proven to be accurate and the upstairs duct system is performing well). The proposal provided took a couple of iterations to get what I wanted but their efforts to get the details down were appreciated. The initial data gathering for the HVAC & ductwork sizing calculations was the most thorough by far of all the HVAC contractors I contacted in order to receive bids on the job. Getting these details is absolutely critical for getting a properly sized system that performs as expected.
For a job of this size, nothing ever goes perfectly, and of course there were some bumps in the road regarding a few things (mostly involving communication with sales involving getting a list of installation issues corrected to customer satisfaction and wrapped up to completion), but the overall installation and the equipment (Trane) is of high quality. I completely reaped the benefits of the new systems and the improved weatherization during the bad cold snap in February during a 13-hour power outage, and again now that the weather is warming up and requiring A/C usage. Kudos to , Newbie (sp?) and the installation team(s).
Biggest pluses: great equipment, very good installation team that worked long and hard to make everything right to customer satisfaction.
Biggest minus: needs to improve communication(s) with customer during & after installation and also during the followup inspection (etc.) that was required by Energy program.
Recommendation: should designate a specific person as "point man" or main communications conduit for the entire process and make sure the customer knows who it is and how to reach them.
I will be using for their continued maintenance of my systems, and would use them again for a future installation.
p.s. I am a tough grader. An overall grade of "B" from me is more like an "A" from most people."

"Mr. came out to our office for the estimate and was so helpful. He was honest, kind and very informative. Because our system is new and still under warranty, he recommended that we call the company that installed the system, because if he had worked on it, the warranty with the other company would have been voided. After inspecting our system, he still took the time to make recommendations for the other company to consider. He didn't make me feel rushed, which made his visit even more pleasant. Great worker and right on time. I would recommend Strand Brother's just because they hire such great employees."

"We have known Lucky, the owner of , for almost 20 years. He has maintained, repaired and replaced two air conditioners & furnaces for us: one in our former home and the other in our current home. He has always done excellent work for a very reasonable price. He has always been very accommodating to our schedules and the weather, performing his work so as to avoid temperatures in the teens and 100+. Everything was cleaned up thoroughly when the work was completed, and any trash or boxes were removed each day. We will continue to use as needed and highly recommend him for members of Angie's List."
