Once the guys got to the house, they worked efficiently and completed the job quickly. took the time to explain all of the materials used, gave me a quick tutorial on operating the vacation lock and other key features, and recommended products to use for regular lubrication of moving parts. The guys were very pleasant and the installation went off without a hitch. It probably would have taken me 15 minutes to figure out how to synch both new doors with my car's Homelink system - offered to save me about 13 of those planned 15 minutes and did it for me as a courtesy (didn't even take him the full two minutes he quoted)!

"Our first home and the salesman used scare tactics such as the number of kids killed and injured by garage doors each year and the liabilities involved for us as homeowners. Job was installed professionally but the price was 2-3x what it should have been and the way they handled the complaint was appalling in my opinion.

"Our automatic garage door spring broke. We turned to Angie's list and chose due to their very reasonable rates and warranty. Our repairman showed up on time, was polite, professional and got right to work. Our door had two springs on it. He informed us that it was too light for that much tension and we would do well with just one spring. So he saved us some money right there. He also did a complete inspection of the frame, track and chain drive and gave it a good and "tune up."
The cherry on top was that he had been looking for a door that would work with a remote control he had and we had been looking for a remote control that would work with the door we had (ours died 10 years ago). Guess what! We found each other! I now have the luxury of a remote control for the garage door at no extra cost! Like 's ! It was awesome and serendipitous!"

"After driving into our garage, I was disconcerted that the remote would not close the garage door. I tried the manual pad on garage wall and that didn't work either. After trying several more times and checking to see if there was some obstruction, my husband asked me to call in to get it repaired.
We had not been satisfied with the last company we had out some years before; so, I went to Angie's List and selected Garage Doors because they had a very good rating and because of the responses of the owner to the few ratings that were not so good. What impressed me was the respectful he used to explain their side of the story and his efforts to make miscommunications right.
When I called, we were given an appointment for the same afternoon. Shortly thereafter, the technician, , called to determine the problem, what kind of unit we had, and how old the unit was. When he learned the age of our unit, he said that it might be its end of life and asked if we wanted him to bring a replacement, just in case. He also told me that they were having a sale on that part if it needed to be replaced. I thought that was proactive on his part but wondered if he would tell me the part needed to be replaced whether it needed to be or not.
did not keep us waiting; in fact, he was able to come before the appointment time. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He listened to the unit, did some diagnostics, and determined that we did not need the part replaced. He did the required repairs and went above and beyond by educating us on maintenance we could do to extend the life of our unit; however, he also said if we were physically unable to do it, Garage Doors could do it for us.
finished the job in a short amount of time and told us how much the repairs would be. We thought the cost was very reasonable considering his skill and the valuable information he shared with us. Also, when we asked if we could use the coupon we found on Angie's List, he cheerfully said we could do so. We were wowed!

"I put my truck in the garage and attempted to lower the garage door only to find one of the cables had jumped off it's track. In the process of trying to put the cable back on the track, it became completely detached. At this point, I backed the truck out of the garage and was able to manually close the door. Of course, I had heavy frost on the windshield the next . I called at Approximatel 9:00 am. He arrived before 10:00 am and completed the job in less than 30 minutes. lThe overall experience was verry good and I would call again."

"We were unsure whether to replace our garage door or simply fix the broken spring on the old one, so we asked technician to come prepared to to repair the old door but also to give options and an estimate for a replacement. Within 3 hours on Friday afternoon brought both new springs and catalogs, and after consideration and advice we chose to replace the door. promised to be back early Monday morning with our new door. On Monday he arrived right on time and had the new door installed in about 3 hours. He also replaced the hardware that supports the opener (it looks 100% better now) and adjusted the opener for us. He did a thorough cleanup before he he left.
Overall we are very satisfied with the work he did and with the replacement door. We would gladly use again."

"I scheduled an 8:00am appointment. At 9:00am, I called to see if their service man was coming. Answer: "uh, yes, we had a meeting this morning but he's on his way". At 11:00am, I called to see when he was coming and they said: "I think he should be there at any minute". The repairman finally arrived at noon. He was professional and apologetic and did a very good job, saying something to the effect that maybe too many appointments had been scheduled that morning. The actual work was just fine, but I don't appreciate scheduling an appointment and then waiting for four hours for the person to show up."
