Austin Exterior Painters Reviews

"When I left a message with this company he was very quick to get back to me about setting up a meeting to get a bid. He said he would call on Friday around 1pm as I wasn't sure if I could meet him that day or not but said I would know by noon - he never called and when I called him he said he wasn't feeling well and took some Nyquil and went to bed. We scheduled the bid for Monday at 11am and after waiting for 45 minutes I called him on his cell phone and he said he had broken his phone (the one he was talking to me on) and he would be over in 30 minutes. Well, he never came over and he never called me to cancel. It is 6 days later and he still hasn't called and frankly at this point I don't want him to because I would never work with anyone who treats me with such disrespect.

"Can't say enough good things about
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and his crew of three!!! Our house needed painting inside and out - plus a good bit of the wood trim needed to be removed and replaced prior to the outside paint job. All done very professionally and the crew chief saw everything that needed doing - I didn't have to point out anything!!! We also had our deck and railing painted. They were in need of it and now will look lovely for many years to come. The inside painting was done efficiently - they were very neat, very proficient and restored all the furniture back to its original place at the end of each day. Easy to live with them working inside. They cleaned up everything as they went along...couldn't be happier with the work that
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
did for us.

Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
(owner) gave me a detailed "bid" for a complete remodel of my duplex. Everything was spelled out in writing along with the price. I added some things as the remodel progressed and subtracted some that I wanted to do myself. He was always very understanding and flexible through the entire process. There were a couple of hiccups along the way but he handled them with professionalism. I could not be any happier with
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
's companies performance. I am about to use him again for a smaller remodel in my home. I whole heartedly recommend him to everyone!

"Overall, the job went very well, though not without some snags, which to
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
's credit, they took care of entirely at their own cost. The paint color that was used did not match the color we had selected. It took a while to be sure because I gave the paint a week to cure to be certain that it wasn't just an impression, but after a week, the color was definitely wrong. There was some wrangling with the paint supplier to try to determine who was at fault, but again,
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
took care of it, and repainted the house with a 3rd coat of paint in the correct color. There was also some problem with overspray of the paint on to our solar panels, and I had to insist that it was their paint before they agreed to clean it off. Luckily, the solar panels were quite new, so we had extensive photo documentation proving that they were clean just days before the painters had started. When I hung Christmas lights in December, I noticed that only the face of the gutters were painted, and not the tops, which seems a little cheap. I also noticed that the trim is only painted the trim color on the face, not the edges. All this seems to be a standard industry practice, but I didn't know the industry standards were so poor. In the end, everything turned out fine, and what really made this a positive experience was that
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
responded quickly to our concerns and fixed what needed fixing at their cost.

"This was high-quality work, and it looks great. The fence looks almost new: no rust, no squeaks, beautiful finish.
The contractor discovered some rot on the deck while power washing. This was repaired. There was an additional cost, but it was quite reasonable for the work. I have absolutely no doubt that the rot was real. He showed me the

damage.
The deck is now solid when I walk on it, and it looks great. The seal is repelling the water quite well.
I'm quite happy with the results.

"Although the initial request for a bid went slowly, the bid we eventually received from
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
was quite competitive compared to others we have received in the past. We needed the work to be completed by the end of November, which gave them a rather short timeframe for doing the work. As part of preparation for the painting, the house was power-washed, and exterior siding that was damaged was replaced and caulked. Some old caulk around the garage doors, which had been poorly applied, was also stripped and replaced. The crews were very efficient and competent. It was obvious that they have worked as a team for a long time—they were in sync with each other, worked quickly and smoothly, without having to speak very much. The window installation process went very smoothly.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
, the installer, is impressive! His work is very precise and we are very happy with the results.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
made sure to cover surface areas in the house while working and cleaned up at the end of the day. He made sure his presence was not disruptive and was professional in every way.
Overall, we are very happy with the results.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
, the owner, was very attentive to our requests, and went out of his way to make sure that we would be satisfied. The November deadline could not be met due to the extreme weather in
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
, but
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
worked on some very cold days and over the weekend to make sure that the work would be completed as quickly as possible.

"Initially
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
and I agreed on a price: $1000 for one apartment and $2,000 for the second apartment. I thought it was high, but
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
came recommended, so I trusted him. We also agreed on how he would be paid, 1/3 at the beginning, 1/3 at the half way point, and 1/3 upon completion. He told me it would take a week. On November 9, 2013, I paid
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
$1000, so that he could get started. Four days later, on November 13, which should have been half way through the one-week job,
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
asked for another $1000. On November 20,
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
said he was desperate and needed $600. He drove to my work and waited for me. He kept calling me and I texted him I was in a meeting with my boss. As soon as I got out of the meeting, I met him and wrote him a check. I told him I had to move moiney from savings into my checking account and asked that he wait until the next day to cash it. I questioned
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
why it was taking so long, now 11/20/2013 (Now 11 days since the beginning of the "one-week" job).
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
said that he mis-judged the scope of the work, and poor weather conditions had slowed his progress.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
called me the next day and told me my check bounced. My bad, I trusted him to wait until the next day to cash it. I immediately went to my bank and had a Cashier's Check made out to him and delivered it personally. On 11/29/2013, I went to see if the apartments had been finished and they were not. A number of the things I pointed out to
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
on the initial walk through had not been done. A sliding screen door had not been replaced, cabinets had not been painted, patched walls had not been textured, but just painted over, and an interior door had been rehung, but wouldn't close.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
said, "
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
must have missed it."
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
hung the door and had to know it wouldn't close.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
also found electrical outlets he said didn't work "sparks shooting out", so he replaced light switches and wall receptacles at an additional fee. So I paid him extra, $965 extra. That is $3965 from the original $3000 quote for an unfinished job after three weeks instead of the one that was promised.
Austin Exterior Painters Provider Name Locked
kept saying "I am a man of my word" and "have a blessed day." Another contractor finished the job for me. I admit, I walked into this thinking I could trust this guy, and was beginning to get desperate myself because it looked like I was going to eat another month of no rent. This man of his word was anything but.

"It went really well. They were very responsive. The owner is really nice and runs his business well. The painters showed up on time, were very courteous and even stayed late without being asked to ensure they got the job done on schedule. All the feedback I had after the first day was addressed promptly on the second day of painting and I think my house looks awesome!!
