"Home Deport unilaterally changed delivery date to be later than expected.
Dryer did not function upon arrival. Delivery team suggested the outlet/branch circuit in the home was faulty.
We paid an electrician to assess the situation. It turns out the dryer would not carry a voltage, ie, the dryer was faulty.
You would think that if Home Deport delivered a faulty product late, they would proactively demonstrate interest in resolving the situation... But wait.... there's more!
First call to

:
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
suggested we call the manufacturer, Maytag, because it was a warranty issue. We spent 90 minutes reaching Maytag; they indicated they would repair it but not replace it. We did not want a refurbished product.

Fourth call to

:

After 90 minutes of waiting for
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
to call us back, I take time off of work to physically go to the store. I find out that
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
is on break and unavailable. It takes an additional 45 minutes to actually schedule the refund and pickup, which will take 2 weeks. Neither
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
nor
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
were involved.
In summary, the dryer was delivered late, it did not work, we had to pay to have the product tested, we took 5 hours of our personal/work time to schedule a return, it took 4 staff from
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
to complete the return, one of which was deceitful, and the pickup and refund will take 2 weeks.
I wish I was making this up.

"The sales part went fine. However, the delivery part was not. Our condo has the kitchen on the second floor. The washer/dryer connection is on the third floor. The fridge (a 36" KitchenAid) was too big for the two delivery man who came out to install it. They had to call for help, despite the fact that all information regarding the condo set-up was shared with the salesman, who ended up being the third person to come out to move the fridge in. They scratched, scraped and dented the walls of the stairwell all the way up. My husband had to help them, because three men were not enough, apparently. Eventually, they took the hand railing off the wall by yanking it out of the wall, leaving chunks of plaster on the floor. They did not clean up, although they did reinstall the railing. Then, they didn't bring any shims to insure that the fridge would be level. Next, the washer and dryer went up to the third floor. Despite giving the salesman exact measurement of the depth and width of the area for the W/D, and telling the salesman that it would need to be stacked, no stack kit was brought. So the installation guys had to return later to stack and install the W/D. They gave us a day, but no time, then didn't show until after 5 pm. They stacked and installed the units, then dscovered they were too deep to close the door to the W/D area; this in spite of the fact measurements were given to the salesman before the sale. When I wrote an email to complain about the stairwell being ruined, the reply was "it was more difficult than we thought!" REALLY? don't use this company. They are not the least bit customer service oriented.

"The dishwasher was deliver by a professional technician who was dressed very nice. His manner put me at ease as he came into my home. The dishwasher was carefully brought into my condo and the old one removed from my property, the technician made some minor adjustments carefully completed the installation. He was quick quite and very clean. All materials were removed from my kitchen when he was through. He made sure the unit worked correctly and checked for leaks. I am very satisfied with Lowe's and there subcontracted labor used for this, installation.

"I was not especially impressed with
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
-tex Appliances. My situation was a little different, as I bought the oven over the phone. We're living in France, and our house is being rented. Our tenant called and said our 15-year-old GE oven was broken, and that the person who came out to look at it estimated about $500 to fix the control panel. We did not want to waste $500 on a control panel, so we decided to buy a new oven - no small feat when we live thousands of miles away from our home! I spoke with
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
at
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
-tex, and he was very nice. He gave me several options, and we finally settled on a
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
oven which retails for about $2000, and he sold it to me for $1100. He did tell me it was a floor model, but neglected to mention that there were paint chips in the black enamel on the top. As far as I was concerned, it was in like-new condition.

I had arranged to have them deliver the oven and install if possible. Since it was a different brand than the original, he warned me that it might require a bit of cutting of my cabinet to make it fit, and that he knew of several people who would do it for me at a reasonable price. The
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
-tex people delivered it, but for some reason didn't install it. They said it would't fit, so I had to arrange for someone else to come and cut the cabinets - but when they came, they did not need to cut anything, and just slid the oven into place. Not sure why the
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
-tex guys couldn't do the same thing.

I first emailed
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
at
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
-tex to inform them of the paint chips, and even sent a picture. I never heard a word from anyone there in response to my email. Several days later, I spoke with someone else, and he basically said that since it was a floor model, what else should I expect? That's why it was discounted...but I've bought several floor models of other appliances, and none of them were damaged in any way. I should have been told of any damage beforehand, so I could then decide if I wanted to buy it.

Bottom line is, they have good prices, but make sure you see the product in person.

"We set up the item and started it up and water immediately began pouring out of the bottom of the machine. I contacted
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
and was instructed to contact an outside company to have it repaired. I then contacted the manufacturer and have not heard back from them although I have made multiple calls. I have now been told I cannot return the item and have my money refunded because it was an "open box" it. So I have to have it repaired and I'm stuck with it."

"When we bought the water heater, they told us the installation would be $259 plus additional costs for any improvements needed because of code changes. We would be given the costs before the work was started and we could reject it if we wanted. When the guys arrived, they looked at the old heater and gave us a price of $275 for the code improvements. Seemed like a bunch, but I wanted to make sure we meet all the latest codes. While they were doing the install, the pieces they were putting back on looked just like the pieces they took off. I looked closer and the part number on the gas supply line was exactly the same as the old one. I asked the guy about these pieces. He told me the water supply lines and the gas line was single use only and had to be replaced every time the water heater is replaced. I agree they have to be replaced. There was one part that had to be added because of a new code. That piece cost $45. I would not have complained if they told me up front that some pieces were single use only and would need to be replaced. But the store and the guys that did the install, tried to hide the additional cost by saying this was all needed to meet new codes. When I called the store to complain, the appliance person begins to argue before I even got finished with my complaint. I am sure they get a lot of complaints. After a few minutes of trying to get her to understand what I was saying, I told her I was finished talking to her and was going to hang up because she was not listening. Before I finished the whole sentence, she slammed down the phone. I do not understand why they are trying to cover up the real cost of the install. Maybe because the real cost is $259+$275=$534 for a $450 hot water heater. Like I said, if they would have told me up front that some pieces would need to be replaced because they are single use only, I would not be complaining. But I probably would have called someone else to install the water heater.

"The delivery date was three weeks after purchase. I selected a morning time slot and worked my work schedule around it. The day before
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
called with a afternoon delivery time. The only option was to cancel the delivery and call the national call service, no option to just change to an earlier delivery time. This was very frustrating. The delivery guys that came two days later did great on getting it installed. I have no complaints with them. I don't understand why Lowe's and Home Depot can delivery next day in the desired time slot but
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
takes three weeks and can't honor the customer's request for a morning delivery. I had to keep reminding myself that I got a great price but I'm not sure it was worth it.

"Horrible customer service! We ordered numerous appliances and they are delivering them individually. They call and cancel deliveries one hour before our window begins. The representatives are rude. We continue to get calls to schedule delivery of our dryer (already have the dryer) and refrigerator (already have the refrigerator). When we try and tell them these items have already been delivered, they tell us we are wrong! We tried to explain our situation to one representative and she hung up on us!!! We will never shop at
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
again. They used to be known for their customer service, but they are now a joke.

"They delivered the appliance to my house at the time they said they would. I had to place an order for the

, as they didn?t have the one that I wanted. They would have hooked up the
Austin Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
but I didn?t want them to at that time."

"I had problems with the sales staff at the store. I came one day and was told I could use a $50 off coupon in addition to the 10% sale they were running. The next day, a different sales person told me that I couldn't. Also, they no longer carried to product that I wanted, so I had to buy the next model up. However, they still had the best price (with installation), so I went with them. I scheduled the delivery for a Saturday. They couldn't give me a specific time during the day until 8am on Saturday. However, they showed up right on time and quickly installed the dryer and hauled the old one off. They were professional, except that they scrapped the drier against an item in my garage that left a red streak on the dryer. I worked with them to get it off and we got it mostly off (I'm satisfied that it won't ever be noticed)."
