Atlanta Driveway Contractors Reviews

"It went great.
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
who gave me the estimate came back throughout the day to check on the job. They had a lot of work to do which I did not believe they could do in a day. They stayed till after dark and finished it. They had a crew come bay the next day to do clean up and they did a great job as well as the brick guy who came back separately to repair some damaged brick. They did a great job and their price was within 200 of 3 other quotes.
"I really can't say enough about how impressed I was with Bill
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I called him and two others I got from Angie's List, and Bill was the first one to respond and gave the lowest estimate. Once I decided to go with him, he walked me through the permitting process. Since I'm in the city of Atlanta, it was a bit of a hassle, but Bill and his expediter handled the entire process efficiently and professionally. He gave me frequent updates, which I appreciated. Once the permits were issued, I had an issue that forced me to postpone the job for a little while. Bill was great and worked with me and my schedule until I was ready to go. Once we could move forward, Bill scheduled the job within a week, showed up early, and he and his crew got to work right away. It was a two-day job, and Bill explained everything to me before they got going and personally supervised the entire job. The estimate was bang-on, and the job was completed on time. Like I said, I can't recommend him highly enough! 100% satisfied. How often can you say that these days?
"All of my interactions with
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
Brown, the owner, were very professional and inspired confidence. He did a great job of calling me back when needed and coordinating for the estimate and then signing the contract. Once we'd agreed on the work and price, he kept me informed of the schedule. We ran into a bit of delay due to weather and he called to let me know as this was happening. Overall I'm very pleased with the result, the price, and the process.

"Found less expensive option for driveway and placed very elegant walkway to side kitchen mini-patio. Finished as scheduled with great clean-up of work area.
"After checking various publications such as Kudzu, Angie’s List, Trust

and Home Reports, I narrowed my choices down to Hemma Concrete, North Georgia Concrete and

Concrete. All 3 responded quickly with an onsite visit and the quotes
were within $2,000 of each other and
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
's quote was in the middle. I choose Bill
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
since he appeared to be the most personally involved in the outcome of my project. Due to his scheduling and permitting there was about a 6 week time period from the initial quote to the start of the work. My only responsibility during that time period was to supply him with a property plat map so that he could get the permit and choose the color of the concrete from samples that he directed me toon an online site. Bill indicated that the driveway installation would take about 2 days-1 day for the tear out and framing and the second day for pouring and finishing.

On the scheduled day Bill and his crew arrived around 8:30 am. When he drove up, I started to remind him of 3 concerns that we had discussed in our first meeting. However Bill did not need the reminder. He said “I know that you are very particular about not having any standing water in front of the garage; secondly, I know you are very particular about not having any runoff on the lawn (a previous contractor replaced a section of driveway and sloped it onto the lawn so I wanted to make sure that all water drained to the street) and thirdly I know you want to have an apron that corrects the “lava flow” of concrete into the street.” Impressive
that he remembered all 3 concerns. We also discussed potential damage to the sprinkler system that might result from the removal of the old driveway.

The removal of the old concrete in front of my garage turned into a bigger job than anticipated as the concrete that was poured about 60 years ago was much thicker than what Bill expected. His crew spent most of the morning removing this section with a cost of extra time, effort and expense. However Bill stuck to his original quote and to his credit and professionalism did not ask for more money. Even though Bill was sick with flu like symptoms he stayed with his crew the entire day to oversee the demolition and framing part of the project. I do not know him by name, but Bill’s foreman or project manager was extremely good as was the entire crew. In the 8 hour day, I think they only stopped briefly for lunch.

The second day started with the arrival of the crew around 7:30 am for final preparations of the concrete pour. Again Bill was sick but again he was there for the entire day. I worked from home this day as I was very interested in watching this part of the project. I also wanted to be there to ensure, as best as I could, that my 3 major concerns were handled properly. The pour and the
shaping of the wet concrete went like clockwork. This day his 6 man crew did not even stop for lunch (I guess you can’t when you have concrete drying!). All crewmembers seemed to know exactly what their jobs were-no one was standing around twiddling thumbs. They shaped, molded, sloped and leveled the concrete as it was poured and by 3:30 or 4 the job was done. They cleaned the area and left. I told Bill I would test the sprinkler system on the second day for any damage. I found that I had 1 break in the water line, 1 head that needed to be replaced and 1 head that had been covered up with sod. Since Bill and I had already
discussed the possibility of some damage, I called him and he simply said for me to call the sprinkler company that I was using, have them repair the system and send him the bill. The repair cost was $176 and Bill promptly sent me a check.

To sum up, Bill’s quote was in line with the other recommended companies; he appears to have a reasonably sized organization so that you are dealing directly with the owner with any questions or concerns that you may have; he showed up and finished the job on schedule; there were no attempts to charge extra for unforeseen problems; he was onsite the entire workday, both days, and he promptly reimbursed me for the unavoidable damage to the sprinkler system.

I recommend Bill

"I was very pleased with the work.

showed up when he promised, honored his quote, and completed the work on schedule. He maintained good communications with us throughout the project."
"We recommend them very highly and we think that they are the best. we've used them for the past two years. They are going to do some walkways this year too. I would tell others that this company is the best. They are a little more expensive but they guarantee all their work they do. They are very professional. The owners are hands on.

"Excellent work and nice dedicated workers. What was promised was done. It is very difficult to rate a driveway and time will tell as to the workmanship. We are happy with the results. We rated price as FAIR since we do not know the

for prices for this type or work. For removal we paid $3000, for concrete we paid $3,662 (612 sf) and for the interlock pavers $3,560 (173 sf). For labor and hard scape materials we paid $2900."

(the owner) came out & offered smart suggestions that other contractors did not, at a fair price! His crew was excellent! Quality work in a timely manner and cleaned up nicely. "
"Horrible. The story is much more detailed than below but don't want to waste time, just warn others. Warranty and promises are worthless. Great deal of scope creep, add-ons, and do-overs. In some cases, work not permitted. Unqualified sub-contractors in many cases without tools of the trade. Later in project, many major jobs outside of painting had to be redone. Signed contract for do-overs not honored. Firm owner disappears when project has problems. Total cost of project very high. Quality very low on most projects. References were based on smaller jobs. Worst part is that signed contracts promises do-overs were not honored. Contractor walked away with money leaving sub-contractors and client waiting for payment or redo--neither of which happened. Initial painting, tile work, electrical, roof, and gutters was done well so client gained confidence to move to other work--renovating and repointing existing stone patio, building a new stairway from existing patio to a new lower patio, repaving driveway, building stone walls for patio and a new driveway gate. But, started to notice discrepancies in
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
's invoices after spreadsheeting all charges--revealing overcharges, duplicate charges, and phantom invoices. Made a list of these charges, work that was paid for but not delivered, refunds for bad stonework (labor and materials), and undelivered projects--such as driveway gate. It has been two and a half months and all I have heard is promises, unanswered or full mailbox messages. The promised delivery of receipts about the original materials charges has not taken place (>15 promises). Final reconciliation of bills (>5 promises) has not taken place. Several sub-contractors have been stiffed.

kept asking me to give the guy a second and then a third

All of this stone work had to be demolished--stairways, walls, lower, and upper patio. Mortar joints were very wide and covered stone. Pressure washing and muriatic acid only made matters worse.
Atlanta Driveway Contractors Provider Name Locked
agreed to sit down and settle all invoicing discrepancies, refund labor and materials for the stonework on the patio and walls, and complete other unfinished projects or redo's of unsatisfactory work--kitchen and bathroom cabinets, driveway gate, poorly poured concrete driveway that doesn't even pitch toward an expensive drain system I had installed, and poorly installed cobblestone edging.
