"Arvydas is tops period.
Came when he said he would, stuck to the request to quote a new chimney cap, even though I asked to inspect the fireplace and I was willing to pay for a cleanup, which he said I didn't need. That's when I knew I had someone I could trust.
Ordered the custom built cap, said it would be ready Thursday, which it was. He called Thursday to come install the new cap, and did so in no time at all, taking all the old stuff and leaving everything spanking new.
don't procrastinate any longer, give him a call. You will be glad too.

"Arvydas helped me out, in a big way. I originally hired him to replace a gas fire starter and chimney sweep. As it turned out, my water heater died the same day he was here to work on my chimneys. I noticed, on Angie's List, that he had done some water heater work for others. I was desperate. He was here. I wasn't sure what to expect. He rocked it! He met me the next day, after work, to do the install. He stayed until after 9pm to complete. He was neat (it was a messy job), efficient, and handled installing the new water heater as if it was what he did everyday. I felt the work he did was superb and the price was beyond fair. The chimneys were given the same level of service. And, he cleaned my dryer vent too. It was so clogged, it looked like birds were nesting in it. New fire starter was installed and looks great. Thanks Arvydas! Why can't all professionals be just like you?"

"After moving into our home,
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
came out to perform an inspection. They were punctual, professional, neat and knowledgeable. After discovering a few items that needed repair (including an odd issue that likely was at least 50 years old), they came back and took care of everything for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an inspection, cleaning, or any other chimney repairs."

"The job went really well and I was extremely satisfied. They showed up exactly on time and called me before hand. They cleaned up afterwards. They climbed up on my chimney and took pictures to tell me what the options were. The laid my options and advised me that the best option was the least costly. They were very prompt with all my phone calls and they got back to me very quickly. They had to come back another day to put the cap. They came, but found that they didn’t have the right screws for it. It was towards the end of the day, but he went back to the store and got a box of screws and finished the job. Instead of rescheduling, they took care of it right then. They were reliable, punctual and honest to deal with. They weren’t try to up sell me. I would use them again because I was very pleased."

"The initial visit, though sprinkled with bits of condensation, went alright and I liked the attic estimate. We planned a date once I had funds arranged.
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
outsourced the work and put me in touch w/ his sub-contractor. When I booked through them.they came to eye ball the space the day prior to installation. The day of the appt. they didn't show or call and neither did

for S&S. Late that afternoon, after we'd spent hours prepping the space the night prior for a 10am appt. he calls and says he screwed up the estimate and couldn't do it but for double. When I didn't respond he showed up at my door a week later demanding to speak with me. So rude and intimidating! Stay away from this guy-he is scary and unprofessional.

"Horrible. The story is much more detailed than below but don't want to waste time, just warn others. Warranty and promises are worthless. Great deal of scope creep, add-ons, and do-overs. In some cases, work not permitted. Unqualified sub-contractors in many cases without tools of the trade. Later in project, many major jobs outside of painting had to be redone. Signed contract for do-overs not honored. Firm owner disappears when project has problems. Total cost of project very high. Quality very low on most projects. References were based on smaller jobs. Worst part is that signed contracts promises do-overs were not honored. Contractor walked away with money leaving sub-contractors and client waiting for payment or redo--neither of which happened. Initial painting, tile work, electrical, roof, and gutters was done well so client gained confidence to move to other work--renovating and repointing existing stone patio, building a new stairway from existing patio to a new lower patio, repaving driveway, building stone walls for patio and a new driveway gate. But, started to notice discrepancies in
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
's invoices after spreadsheeting all charges--revealing overcharges, duplicate charges, and phantom invoices. Made a list of these charges, work that was paid for but not delivered, refunds for bad stonework (labor and materials), and undelivered projects--such as driveway gate. It has been two and a half months and all I have heard is promises, unanswered or full mailbox messages. The promised delivery of receipts about the original materials charges has not taken place (>15 promises). Final reconciliation of bills (>5 promises) has not taken place. Several sub-contractors have been stiffed.

hired a stucco guy he raved about as a sub-contractor for the stone work. Guy who new nothing about stone--level, plumb, pointing, grade lines, drainage, or design.

kept asking me to give the guy a second and then a third

--that he was great. Finally I had to fire the guy after viewing crooked walls, wasted materials, two trucks of concrete, and a lower patio with a bow that looked like the Titanic. All of this stone work had to be demolished--stairways, walls, lower, and upper patio. Mortar joints were very wide and covered stone. Pressure washing and muriatic acid only made matters worse.

agreed to sit down and settle all invoicing discrepancies, refund labor and materials for the stonework on the patio and walls, and complete other unfinished projects or redo's of unsatisfactory work--kitchen and bathroom cabinets, driveway gate, poorly poured concrete driveway that doesn't even pitch toward an expensive drain system I had installed, and poorly installed cobblestone edging. I took over management of the stonework at that point 10/6/09--

"The chimney sweep was fine (if a bit overpriced) but the trouble began when I was informed of the $2,450 in "necessary" charges that needed to be performed, including a new damper, new chimney cap, new gas grate, and interior coating. I am not a chimney expert by any means, but in asking a host of follow up questions, their responses left no room for doubt that the vast majority of the repairs needed to be completed if I wanted to use the chimney. Most notably, I absolutely needed a new cap and the damper which was, in their words, broken and unusable. As I was not prepared to spend that kind of money, I simply didn't use the fireplace and decided to seek a second opinion from LM
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
. Without going into detail on the service (it was terrific), he fixed our "broken and unusable" damper in two minutes. It was simply off-track. Old, but very much still usable. He said it was an obvious problem and said it was improbable that Mad Hatter didn't realize it was simply off-track. So here's the heart of my beef with Mad Hatter. They charged me $250 to come out and told me my damper was broken, unfixable, and they needed $1,200 to fix it ($2,450 in total) because it was stuck half open. I didn't want to spend the money, so I let a good portion of the winter pass with an open damper (wasting money on escaping heat). Yet LM
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
came out, in two minutes and determined it was simply off-track and perfectly usable (code issues with the internal chimney coating aside). I feel that at best,
Atlanta Chimney Covers Provider Name Locked
tech was incompetent, and at worst, he was dishonest in telling me the damper was broken beyond repair. Regardless of which it was, I believe I should be refunded my $250 service fee back because they absolutely did not fulfill their obligation of honest and competent service.
