I adopted a "free" tabby cat. I brought him home on
3, opened the carrier, and never laid eyes on the cat again. I was convinced he was skulking around in the cold air return ductwork. So I called Crisufulli Brothers. The tech showed up and did a thorough iPhone
throughout the ductwork and furnace. He even had a kitty lure app. But, alas, no cat and no cat droppings. So at least I know where the cat isn't. The tech was a cat lover and really did a
in all the nooks and crannies favored by felines. I have since had a sighting but he dashed up to the top of the furnace and disappeared. I also see evidence that he is coming upstairs to eat from his food bowl. So sooner or later I'll figure it out. But I thank Crisifulli for the help.

I saw an ad on Angie's list for an A/C tune up for $45.00 so I purchased it since I have had my A/C for 8 years and have not had a tune up yet. Rich arrived on time and was very professional and congenial. He went over all of the work involved in the tune up and went above and beyond to show me what I could do on my own to keep the system maintained between tune-ups. Excellent service, I would definitely recommend him.

Service contract was expensive. The charges are for each piece of a dual zone HVAC system. This surprised me. The system is old so I agreed to the service. I had to call them to remind them to come service my system in January. I have yet to hear from them to service the air conditioner for the summer.

We recently changed homeowner insurance companies. During our walk through, the new company stated that we had to have an old unused oil tank removed from our basement. My first instinct was to go to Google, where I found that it was very difficult to find companies whom performed this type of service. My next instinct was to try Angie's List. After calling several providers, I was receiving quotes from $325 - $800. We chose to go with
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
for two reasons: A) The price was the best and B) I submitted for an online quote and they responded very promptly. That same day, they came out to our home and gave us a more concrete quote and we scheduled our appointment. We are very satisfied with not only the work that they performed, but the level of professionalism we received.

It went great. I moved into this house around Christmas so it was good to get some info on the heating/cooling system, advice on filters (never had central air or forced air heat before) and cleaning. The service guy was on time, very professional, did a thorough cleaning of the condenser unit (including evicting a nestful of mice that had settled there over the winter!) and showed me how to work some parts of the system I wasn't familiar with.

Our sump pump would not stop running, at 11:30 pm! We heard it, and had to unplug it while the sump hole filled with water. We called
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
., got the answering service. about 15 minutes later
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
called, and said he would check in the shop to see if there was a pump. He called 10 minutes later, said he had the part and would be over in about 40 minutes. He was here in about 30 minutes, with the sump pump. It took him about 20-25 minutes to install it. We are in a high water table area, so we would have to be bailing water if our sump pump did not work. we've had to do that once before, so it was worth $175 per hour not to have our basement flooded. That sounds like a high price to pay, and that's why I gave the price a "B."
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very professional. We were "bailed" out by
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
., and will call them again when we need plumbing services. He left just after 1:15 am. Thanks!

Cleaned out natural gas furnace. Was very helpful with information about what needed to be replaced. Did not try to push any repairs. Purchased service contract for furnace and air conditioner for great price!

One the cold night of 12/30/2013, our furnace located in the attic stopped working. I called all around to get a technician over.
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was the first to show up. The technician spent 45 minutes in the house, told me the smart gas valved needed to be replaced, then handed me a bill of $190. Ten days later, on 1/9, the same technician showed up with the new valve. And sure enough, replacing the gas valve did not help. He said the sensor/ignitor needed to be replaced too. I raised the doubt that the gas valve didn't fail in the first place and that the problem was really the ignitor. But he brushed it off. I called his manager to ask about this technician's credential, who assured me he was very experienced. Anyway, a new ignitor and 3:30 hours later, the technician left with the heat running and a bill of $1000. Not long after he left, no heat again. So the next day, the same technician came. This time, he said, it was the exhaust pipe. He said he had to cut open the exhaust pipe to find blockage. I asked if he could seal properly after cutting. He said of course. Long story short, the heat was back again but we woke up the next morning finding water dripping down the fine moldings in the ceiling of our two story great room. On the floor was a fine oriental rug, a grand piano, and the wood floor. We had to use all the buckets we could find to keep water off the rug.
This time another technician showed up. He found leakage where the previous technician cut the exhaust pipe. Another round of fixing and the leakage was, I was told, terminated. Stupid for me, I purchased their red carpet service agreement on their 3rd visit. SO While this 2nd technician was in the house, he performed "service" on my other two furnaces. It took him less than 25 minutes and I paid $400 for it!
At this point, we already paid $1600 to
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and were left with a wide strip of yellow stain on the white ceiling of our great room. This is when I called my builder who brought in another heating company to investigate the furnace in the attic.
Guess what, the attic was a mess. The cut off pieces were all left there. The insulation for the furnace was taken off and never put back (thank goodness the furnace didn't freeze). There was still minor LEAK at where they cut the exhaust pipe. The pipe was tilted at two locations due to lack of support. I also learned that the smart gas valve, which I waited for 10 days and costed me $600 might not be faulty to begin with!
$1600, a messy attic, hours of agony, a bill from the painter to fix the water stain, a cleaning bill from the carpet dealer, and additional cost to repair the leak which was supposedly "fixed" by
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
. This is the "service" I got from
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
.
A note: when we noticed the leak I was put in touch with a manager
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
at
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
, who promised me to reimburse my painting and cleaning cost. I'm still waiting for estimate of both services but I welcome his gesture. I hope
Albany HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
would also give me a full explanation of their "service", and the hefty cost associated with it.
