Is your home well insulated?

If your home is not properly insulated, you could be wasting money in energy costs. Industry experts say you can save up to 20 percent of heating and cooling costs each year by properly insulating and sealing your home. However, since insulation can deteriorate, it’s important to have it checked periodically to make sure it remains efficient. Though insulation is often most associated with the attic, make sure your walls, crawl spaces and basement are properly insulated.

Love the explanation of diferent types of insulation and their insulating values.

We used polyurethane in the attic and crawlspaces in our cape (1520' footprint). We save $500 year in heating. We did put in a variable heating system at the same time, so all the savings is certainly not coming from the insulation. Maybe the house is a little cooler in the summer, too. The insulation is supposed to prevent ice damming, but there's a part of our roof that we still rake every year. Putting plastic up over the windows in the winter saves $100/mo in heating bills.

no full picture and no volume on it.

I noticed what appeared to be uninsulated metal duct in the beginning of the video. It was not addressed in the video.
