Not so sweet
COMPLAINT: Kathy Bianco, Palm Harbor, Fla.
"I hired Let Them Eat Cake for my daughter's wedding day. You want everything to be perfect, but the cake was a fiasco from start to finish. We [my daughter and I] went to a cake tasting and the little cakes were stale - I wasn't impressed. About a month before the wedding, my daughter brought them a picture of the cake she wanted and they stapled it to the bottom of the invoice. They told us to e-mail any changes we wanted.
"When my daughter went to pay the balance, they told her what flavor cake they made and what layers they used. She stated that wasn't correct and that she had e-mailed the changes. [Chef] Michael [Baugh] said he doesn't check e-mail. They wanted to deliver the cake at 1 p.m. and I told them I wanted it delivered at 4 p.m. as the ceremony wasn't until 6 o'clock. They said they had 15 cakes to deliver that day and they had to deliver it at 1 p.m.
"They showed up at 2:30 p.m. with it. When we cut the cake, it was the wrong one! I ordered a white cake with a chocolate layer in the middle. They gave us a cake with three yellow layers. The whole experience with this company was awful and I'd never recommend them to anyone."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $375 refund."
