Website designer fails to make connection

COMPLAINT: Tonya Walker, Marietta, Ga.

"I hired Compoundweb Inc. of Woodstock [Ga.] to redesign my website. It was the worst experience I ever had. I paid Aaron Crow [the owner] a $300 deposit, as he said he had been burned by customers in the past. The completion date stipulated in the contract came and went, and half of the work was still missing.

"He said he would have the rest completed in two weeks but asked for the remaining $300 because he had rent to pay. I paid him. He never touched my website again. Every time I e-mailed or called, he gave me one excuse after another for why it wasn't finished.

"I decided to terminate his service, and only asked for $300 of the $600 back since he did do some work, but I also wanted my files since I paid for them. He told me he would only give me access if I agreed to a $175 refund. In my desperation to end this experience, I agreed. He gave me access to the files, but I have not received the refund."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like the $175 refund."

STATUS: Penalty Box

Aaron is one of the nicest and most professional people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. It is sad that people tend to write a complaint but never seem to write a positive review. I highly defend him against these two individuals. I had absolutely no issues with him at all. He worked hard and I will gladly recommend him to anyone.

Aaron is one of the most professional and delightful people I have ever met. Not only did he do exactly what he promised, he did more. It is a shame that people are so willing to post messages that are negative and never post when they have something good to say. I would highly recommend Aaron to anyone!

I wish I had read this message board before I hired Aaron to do some work on my website. He only completed a portion of the work we agreed upon, but that doesn't do me any good, because he messed around with my site so much it is not useable, and now I have to start over from scratch. He assured me he was "very honest in what he does." Apparently NOT. Good thing I only paid him $80, and I filed a dispute with Paypal. Hopefully I'll get my money back.

In order to make a justify whether there should be a refund it would be helpful to see the work they have done so far.

I hope that you found resolution. I was looking him up today to see how many he might have screwed over. I got the last laugh on him. He is the most unprofessional person I have dealt with. I was too nice to him and in the end he abused that along with not being able to even finish 1/4 of the work that he said he could do. I could go on but why waste my time. People avoid this guy at all costs. PAYPAL is your friend.
