Envirotherm LLC
Failed to respond to Jenny Horvath's complaint regarding the replacement of a boiler and installation of floor registers and radiators she says is unsastisfactory. First month in the Box.
COMPLAINT: Jenny Horvath, Shorewood, Wis.
"I hired Envirotherm LLC to replace my boiler and move it to a new position in the basement. They also installed floor registers in a kitchen and bathroom, as well as extra radiators in the basement.
A six-day job turned into a three-plus month job. The registers don't heat up, and I've learned they shouldn't be used with the system I have. In addition, the installation of the register in the kitchen blocked me from using a cabinet, which I paid a carpenter to fix. The register in the bathroom doesn't work, and they left the floor shoddy and unfinished.
The basement radiators, which they said would get so hot I'd be sweating in my back hall, don't do this. I still need to supplement heat in the back hall. The pump was installed on the ceiling of the basement, which makes the living room floor vibrate when the boiler is on.
When brought back to the home to discuss these things, Envirotherm told me to wait for the really cold weather for the installed registers to work. I did, and they don't work. They also promised to find some noise-reduction ability for the vibrations and they didn't.
Their work failed the first inspection. They don't answer phone calls and don't respond to complaint letters."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $233 refund to cover a leaking radiator in the basement. I also want $50 to cover the cabinet repair."
STATUS: Penalty Box
