Paint problem

COMPLAINT: Eileen Spoor, Ruskin, Fla.

"I bought eco-friendly paint from US Coating Solutions for the floor of my kennel house. I cleaned and prepped the floor. The paint peeled and destroyed my caulking. Gary [Hanson] sent out new paint. I sanded the floor again and applied the new paint. The second time was worse than the first. It was so slick you couldn't stand up on it.

"I couldn't let clients in the kennel for fear of them falling. I had to hire another company to strip the floor and repaint it for $1,200. I closed my business down for a week in order to get the floor fixed. Not only was my floor a danger zone, it was hideous."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my $1,200 back."

"I advised the member to contact me when she was ready to apply the paint and I'd go over the instructions. She applied the product without contacting me. Her husband admitted applying with no instructions and mixed it wrong.

"I felt bad and advised them that if they'd sand down the floor, I'd send them another coating free. If there was any need of a non-slip additive, Sharks Tooth was required. They refused it. They didn't sand down the floor as directed and applied over the urethane.

"They complained again and asked what to do now. I told them to grind down to the concrete as instructed the first time, I'd come and confirm and give them more product. They never contacted me back."
