Student Painters do makeup work for dissatisfied client
COMPLAINT: Kelly Wilson, Seattle
"Student Painters painted a good portion of the outside of my house. They were very professional at the beginning and had good written materials about the scope and quality of their work. I really wanted it done in a few weeks and they were able to do that.
"But in the end, I don't think the quality was all that good and don't think they were conscientious about what I wanted. The proper paint wasn't used on the front door and the appearance just isn't right. The paint was applied very thinly. For the price, the quality should have been better.
"They also damaged two brand-new downspouts. Someone obviously stepped on the downspouts or dropped something heavy on them. I talked to them at least twice and was told they would come back and remedy the issues, but they never did."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to return to do minor touch-ups, repaint the front door, and reimburse me $300 for the two downspouts."
COMPANY RESPONSE: Jessica Bishop, chief executive officer, Student Painters
"We regret the member had a sub-par experience. Any damage that occurs on a site is expected to be remedied and we intend to take financial responsibility for said damage. Regarding the touch-up work and door repaint, we have it on our schedule to be repaired when our painting season resumes."
