COMPLAINT: Myriam Ghali, St. Louis
"I hired Ed Lauth to install a new kitchen in my home. It was fine, except for the laminate countertop he fabricated. The laminate didn't bond properly with the plywood and the surface is all wavy.
Ed said he'd replace it if it didn't get better over time. It didn't, so I called him. He promised to come but never did. I've already paid him in full."
DESIRED RESOLUTION:
"I'd like him to replace the countertop at no charge."
STATUS: Penalty Box
COMPLAINT: Sarah Friesen, St. Louis
"The Cleaning Authority - Manchester has cleaned my home bi-weekly for over two years. They left a massive bleach stain on my living and dining room carpet, and admitted their mistake in writing.
When I called their office about the damage, they said they would be out the next morning to evaluate the problem. No one showed up or called and repeated calls to their office have gone unanswered.
A call to their franchise headquarters told me their local agency was closed for the day."
DESIRED RESOLUTION:
"I want my carpet to look exactly like it did before The Cleaning Authority spilled a bleaching agent on it. If they can't meet this expectation, I'd like them to reimburse me for the replacement of the carpet."
STATUS: Resolved
Friesen told Angie's List the issue was resolved to her satisfaction and considers the matter closed.
