Shower tile job called shoddy by Marietta homeowner
COMPLAINT: Libby Rush, Marietta
M & R Remodeling of Jonesboro, Ga., was supposed to remove my bathroom's existing tile and waterboard. They were also supposed to spray for mold and replace insulation, remove and install new fixtures in the shower, and install three corner shelves and a soap dish.
They were also to install new tile surrounding the tub and shower, a new toilet, touch-up paint around the shower, and clean and reglaze the existing tile and floors. The project was to have been completed in about two weeks, but it's been about six weeks and the project still isn't done.
They didn't want to install bullnose tile to frame the shower, so I had to go out and buy it and convince them that it was the only way to make it look right and finished. It took them three tries to install the tub faucet, and it still wasn't done properly: there's a gap between the faucet and the shower wall.
I only received two corner tile shelves instead of three, and the ones they did put up were installed improperly: they have wide gaps underneath that cannot even be repaired with caulk. It looks like a sloppy job! When they brought the toilet in, its lid hinges were broken. They were supposed to bring me a new lid, but I still don't have one.
We also had a verbal agreement to have my tub refurbished and it's not done. The cleaning and reglazing of the existing tile and floor is also incomplete.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I want the work redone properly and finished, or a $500 refund.
