San Diego movers damage belongings during rushed move
Possesion protection
COMPLAINT: Jennifer and Michael Tillman, Encinitas, Calif.
"San Diego Van & Storage Co. estimated it would take three days to move our three-bedroom home. [They were to] provide replacement cost insurance with a $250 deductible. We expressed concern when we observed improper packing but the driver told us that they were the 'experts' and assured us they were taking care to pack and protect our possessions.

San Diego Van Storage Co.
Failed to respond to Jennifer and Michael Tillman's request for reimbursement for items they say were damaged in a move. First month in the box.
"Damages occurred when the company decided to move us in two days instead of the planned three. The damages were due to the rushed job and improper packing. We signed delivery documents after the driver assured us we could claim any problems later on the insurance.
"Now the company's insurance department is dismissing or discounting many items because we didn't annotate the delivery documents. The company will only pay us $932 instead of the $2,917 we claimed for loss and damage."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "The damages were in the amount of $3,167. This amount minus the $250 deductible, or $2,917, is entirely reasonable and should be paid to us, in full."
STATUS: Penalty Box
