J C Electronics
Failed to respond to Jim Costello's request for a $235 refund for pre-paid TV repairs that he says didn't work properly.
COMPLAINT: Jim Costello, San Diego
"I chose J C Electronics to repair my television. [The owner] arrived alone, which proved to be a problem since my TV is considerably heavy, and it takes a minimum of two people to move them. I have back problems, but given the circumstances I had no choice but to help him remove the TV from the entertainment center. We were rather clumsy and chipped the front of the entertainment center in the process.
"After paying $235 to have the TV fixed, it stopped working after a few weeks. Either the wrong part was replaced, or the replacement part was defective.
"His response time was not as quick the second time around. While the TV would turn on, there were now major problems with the picture quality. After a few minutes, the picture stopped working, and I was right back where I began with an inoperable TV.
"Ultimately, he walked away and refused to return my phone calls and either complete the work or give me a refund."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like a refund of $235."
STATUS: Penalty Box
