Roof install results in $10,000 refund request
COMPLAINT: Lora Herrick, Blairsville, Pa.
"I hired Superior Construction of Punxsutawney to install a new metal roof over existing shingles. It cost $8,750. It has leaked since the first rain after installation. The contractor made 10 attempts to fix the new roof using acrylic caulking, roofing cement and tar, but it still leaks.
"The water damage is significant. I sent them a certified letter asking them to refund my money, but they haven't done so. I had my roof tarped until I got the metal roof off and new shingles installed."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like to be reimbursed $10,000 because of interior water damage, and the charges associated with labor and disposal to remove the tarp and metal roof."
