Refund settles Tampa Bay solar panel squabble
Date Published: Nov 19 2010
COMPLAINT: Ray Williamson, New Port Richey, Fla.
"I hired FAFCO Tampa for a leak repair, and I've had to call them several times to repair the same spot. When I saw a leak in the same spot after the last repair, I called to complain and they told me that their panels could not have caused the roof damage.
"The panels were held to the roof by only by the threads of a single large wood screw. There were no lag bolts, no reinforcements and no flashing. I elected to terminate my relationship with them."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like a $127.95 refund."
RESPONSE: Barbara Himes, administrative assistant, FAFCO Tampa
"In good faith, we are refunding the member $127.95 as he requested."
