COMPLAINT: James Bennett, Raleigh, N.C.
"I went to Pep Boys Auto [on Capital Blvd. in Raleigh] to have new brakes put on my vehicle. They botched the job so badly that I had to take it to another place to correct it. I'm out $110 and will never go to them again.
"The wait was long and the service was unsatisfactory. I actually brought my car back to them a second time to try to correct the first brake job they did, only to wind up dissatisfied again.
"After that, I brought it to another company that finally did the job right."
DESIRED RESOLTION: "I would like a $110 refund for the money I spent, and the time and gas I wasted in this matter."
RESPONSE: Robert Roe, service manager, Pep Boys Auto
"We would like a copy of the bill from the shop where the work was corrected. Once we see what work was performed, a refund will be granted based on the repair bill."
STATUS: Resolved
Editor's note: The member informed Angie's List that the company refunded him $110 and the matter is resolved.
