Do you repair all brands of TVs?

Newton: "Yes, we do. We repair almost everything that comes in the door."

Gibson: "Yes. I do a lot of Hitachi, Toshiba and a lot of Magnavox products."

Lee: "I do. I repair a lot of big-screen TVs."

How long do repairs generally take?

Newton: "There are a lot of variables. We try to turn things around in a week, but sometimes we have to wait for parts."

Gibson: "On rear projection TV, I can usually do them in one trip. If it's a newer TV and requires parts, it can be a week to 10 days."

Lee: "They take a couple of hours. There are times when I have to come back with parts, though."

Do you give free estimates on repairs?

Newton: "No, we don't. The estimate is credited back toward the cost of the repair, though."

Gibson: "There's a $50 to $100 deposit on bigger TVs, but that's applied to the repair."

Lee: "They're included with the service charge."

What's the average cost to repair a TV?

Newton: "Most big screens run somewhere in the $300 to $350 range."

Gibson: "The average is $300."

Lee: "It depends on what kind of TV you have. The average is about $150."

Do you repair anything other than TVs?

Newton: "We do some stereos, but not a whole lot."

Gibson: "I repair stereos, and I'm still doing a few microwaves. From time to time, I see VCRs and DVD players."

Lee: "Yes, we repair refrigerators, washer and dryers. We do pretty much everything."

How long have you been in business?

Newton: "Since 1956."

Gibson: "I bought this shop 16 or 17 years ago."

Lee: "Almost 20 years now."

Will you make a house call? If so, do you charge extra for this service?

Newton: "We charge extra for the cost of gas. Pickup and delivery costs vary by distance."

Gibson: "Home service is $65, plus parts and labor."

Lee: "The service call is $35, and then I give the estimate."
