Portland drain cleaner removes bone from sewer
"We pull some pretty unusual things out of drains," says Apollo Drain Plumbing manager Ray Bushelle. "We find some things that are unmentionable, and sometimes we find drugs. We also have a call now and then for diamond rings and necklaces, and most of the time, we're able to get them out."
"The most common culprit in all drain backups is soap," Bushelle says. "It's used in almost every drain line, and the by-product of soap is natural or synthetic fat that adheres to the inside of the drain line and causes a buildup."

Description of work "Apollo Drain & Plumbing Inc. used a pressure washer to remove a bone from my sewer cleanout."
Member comments "I got a call on a Saturday afternoon from the renter of a duplex I own informing me the bathtub wasn't draining and water was backing up into the adjoining unit's tub. In fact, any water used, including flushing the toilet, ended up backing into the bathtub. I called Apollo because they have 24-hour emergency service, and a technician met me within the hour. It was dark and freezing cold outside, but he crawled under the house to find the sewer cleanout and asked if I'd be willing to pay more to use the pressure washer to knock the object loose. I agreed, and he really hustled and got a huge bone out of the sewer line. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it!"
