COMPLAINT: Laurie Abrams, Burtonsville, Md.
"I hired Cutting Edge Landscaping Service Inc. to drain and clean my pond, replace the pump and change the tubing. They gave me a very generic estimate, nothing in writing.
They didn't show up or call on the scheduled date, rescheduled twice and then showed up unannounced [to do the work]. About a week later, the pump began to work intermittently and eventually stopped working.
When I called, they said it'd be $150 to take a look. I paid half the bill but continue to get payment statements.
I haven't received return calls. I don't want to pay more until they look at the pump. I want to make sure it works properly."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like the pump to work reliably for a reasonable period of time before the remaining money is paid."
STATUS: Penalty Box
