"We are different because we go out of our way to ensure our customer's 100 percent satisfaction," Jordan says.

"Being able to help people in times of need is the best part of what we do," says Michael Jordan, co-owner with his wife Ruby, of PlumbPros Plumbing Co. in Smyrna [Ga.]. "Our employees take great pride in knowing that they have left every customer's home in a healthy, safe and properly working manner."

Michael and Ruby are graduates of the Georgia Plumbing Institute. The early days of the business were difficult. "Ruby and I had very little money - in fact, none," he says. "I used a credit card to buy the tools, parts and equipment that I needed. I bought a work van from my mother-in-law and she let me make monthly payments on it."

It turned out to be a wise investment. PlumbPros has won the Super Service Award for plumbing from 2006 to 2009, as well as for water heaters in 2007 and 2008 and drain cleaning in 2008. It has grown to a staff of seven employees.

"Business is going well for us," Michael says. "We just recently added a fourth technician, so we'll be able to serve even more customers."

Angie's List member Tim Harben is glad he called PlumbPros after a water pipe broke in his yard. "They were excellent," he says. "The thing I most appreciated about them is they responded immediately to my urgent need. They are very thorough with high quality workmanship."

Michael, Ruby and the other employees stay on top of their game by completing continuing education courses, and weekly product and safety training. They also use only top-quality products.

"Our Angie's List reviews are great because our customers understand that hiring the best in the business is their top priority, even if it costs them a little more," he says. "In plumbing, you really do get what you pay for."
