Pat Standley of Chicago hired Jack Simonson, The Scottish Plumber, to replace her sewer and catch basin, which has been completely clogged with roots.
"Jack and his assistant spent two days digging up the concrete floor, replacing cast-iron pipe and fully rodding the pipes beneath the house," Standley says.
"My house is more than 100 years old, and Jack seemed to know a lot about older homes and their construction. Although the work was expensive, I felt confident it was badly needed and done properly. Jack is very knowledgeable and explains everything he's doing and why. He showed up on time and always answered his phone when I called."
