Pittsburgh roofing contractor allegedly takes money and runs

"I hired Done Right Roofing & Remodeling to do some repairs to my slate roof, replace shakes over the entryway, add two vents to the roof and fix a bay window in my dining room.

Didn't respond to Mark Le Schack's request for a refund on what he says is faulty equipment and software. Third month in the box.

Didn't respond to Anna Lee-Fields' request for a refund for work she says was never finished. Third month in the box.

Constantine & Mayer Inc.
Didn't reply to Mary Zoller's request for reimbursement for three rugs she says weren't auctioned properly. Second month in the box.

Keystone Basement Systems & Structural Repair Inc.
Hasn't responded to Beverly Gertz's request for them to redirect the sump pump so water doesn't get into her basement. First month in the box.

Done Right Roofing & Remodeling
Didn't address Jennifer Degruttola's complaint about cashing a deposit for roof repairs but not doing the work. First month in the box.

I gave them a $1,400 deposit to order supplies.

They cashed the check but haven't done any work to date. I've left several messages, but they haven't returned any of my calls and no longer are present at their place of business."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want my deposit back."

STATUS: Penalty box

COMPLAINT: Beverly Gertz, Munhall
"Keystone Basement Systems & Structural Repair Inc. installed my sump pump. Shortly after, I noticed it was pumping water into my neighbors yard. They weren't happy.

I contacted the company to fix it, and they billed me an additional $300.

After redirecting the sump pump, it soaked my front sidewalk constantly, which caused it to get mossy and slick. Now my basement has a musty smell and water marks on the wall.

After the installation, I also noticed a lot of things were missing from the basement and garage, including a car seat warmer, hammock chains, car parts in a package and a garage door button."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to redirect the sump pump."

STATUS: Penalty box

This man is well known to take people’s deposit and leave them high and dry. Don’t take my word for it. All you need to do is to google “Christopher Biknius”. You’ll find a 1/8/2008 article in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review about how he was charged for Theft by Deception. Me? I waited 7 months for Chris Biknius to do the work he promised to do and it still didn’t do any work. He had plenty of lame excuses. I learned too late, but it’s not too late for you. Whether he goes by AAA Roofing / Remodeling or Done Right Roofing & Remodeling, the Pittsburgh Better Business Bureau will tell you, this is not somebody to trust, he has an "F" rating with them. It’s been three weeks since I demanded my money back…all I got was an e-mail saying “kiss my ass”.
