Pittsburgh glass block company leave home a mess

COMPLAINT: Donna Zumpano, Pittsburgh
"Pittsburgh Glass Block installed glass block windows for me. After they finished, I noticed they'd gotten cement all over my porch. My furniture, carpet and pillows were covered in dust.
Penalty Box
Keystone Basement Systems Structural Repair Inc.
Hasn't responded to Beverly Gertz's request for them to redirect the sump pump so water doesn't get into her basement. Third month in the box.
Done Right Roofing & Remodeling
Didn't address Jennifer Degruttola's complaint about cashing a deposit for roof repairs but not doing the work. Third month in the box.
"The cleanup wasn't satisfactory. How can someone come to clean without cleaning equipment? The men used my water and dusted off my furniture and pillows. I had to totally reclean everything. Overall, it was bad experience. I wouldn't recommend this company."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want a $60 refund.
RESPONSE: Ed Hefright, vice president of sales, Pittsburgh Glass Block
"In addition to installing glass block windows, our contract included replacing a lintel (the metal piece above the window that carries the brick), which requires us to cut mortar joints, remove some bricks and the old lintel, install the new lintel, and replace the bricks. This process requires grinding out the old mortar and creates a large amount of dust.
"We warned the customer in advance, and we told her to close windows and cover anything the cement dust might damage. After we completed the job, the customer called to complain. As a courtesy, we offered to credit her $25 or to have someone stop by to do some cleanup.
"She opted for the latter, and we sent someone out. We didn't hear back from the customer and weren't aware of her dissatisfaction until now. We request that this customer call us directly."
