COMPLAINT: Jeff Cunningham, Phoenix
"I had to call Puckett's Flooring to remove and repair tiles that were not level in each of my showers. In addition, they grouted my master shower with the incorrect color.
"Upon removing the grout, they used a razor blade and chipped the edges of my 18-inch wall tiles.
"In addition, when they installed my glass mosaic tiles, they failed to protect them. Broken ceramic tiles, dried thin-set material and other debris were left piled up on the shower basin, and the foot traffic from the installation caused scratching and gouging of the glass. Ultimately, the tiles needed to be replaced.
"When Puckett's finally replaced the tiles, president Ted Fluegal's craftsmen used grout caulking to fill in the lines. This use of the caulking in the shower led to water migrating through, soaking the latex-based adhesive.
"The tiles started lifting after 15 shower cycles, and the grout turned dark. After Puckett's came to review the situation, they refused to perform repairs, but we were offered $300 for the damage in the shower.
"However, they charged nearly $300 for the material alone, and the cost of the shower floor was three times that, with exorbitant charges for the mud deck and installation. I also found out afterward this company misrepresented having the state licensing to even be doing the tile installation in the first place."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: I want a refund consummate with the actual cost of having the repairs done by a qualified and licensed contractor.
