What a headache
COMPLAINT: Kevin Leahan, Oaklyn, N.J.
"Owens Corning Basement Finishing System installed waterproofing and walls in my basement as well as a drop ceiling, a new half bath and three new windows. Work was supposed to start within 30 days and should've taken two weeks. However, I never heard from them until two months later.
"Work commenced and they had five guys working during the first two days. After that, only one guy showed up. Another month passed as he waited on permits. The project manager showed up without calling and pressured my fiancée for final payment. It's now been seven months and I'm still waiting for the project to be completed. While I'm pleased with how it looks, it's not worth the money and aggravation."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want the permit process completed and a $6,558 refund which includes overcharging for waterproofing, interest on the loan, a parking ticket the company incurred and a 10 percent nuisance refund."
STATUS: Penalty Box
