Northbrook company allegedly repairs wrong window

COMPLAINT: Emmanuel Darakjian, Skokie, Ill.

“I hired McCann Window & Exteriors of Northbrook, Ill., to install several windows and replace a broken bathroom window. The workmanship was excellent, and everyone was polite at all times. However, the bathroom has two windows, and when the installers came, they didn't ask which window to replace, but instead made the decision on their own. They replaced the wrong, unbroken window. The salesperson told me this was due to ambiguity in his writeup of the job description, but tried to charge me for an extra window.”

DESIRED RESOLUTION: “McCann should replace the broken window instead of using this incident as an opportunity to charge more money.”

RESPONSE: Kevin McCann, president, McCann Window & Exteriors

“This issue seemed to be a miscommunication between our salesperson and the member. After talking about this over the phone, we felt it was best to go ahead and give him the new window.”
