Denver moving complaint
COMPLAINT: Barbara K. Huss, Elizabeth, Colo.
"I scheduled Millennium Movers for my move from Arvada to Elizabeth. They first visited my condo to assess and price my moving needs and told me the move would be completed in one day.
"I requested packers to complete my packing and indicated that I had a huge amount of packing materials and boxes in the basement from my previous move less than a year ago. They told me my materials would be used first before they used any of their materials.
"When the packers arrived on the scheduled date, they used very little of the packing materials in my basement. The movers arrived approximately an hour and half late. The moving truck would not accommodate my household and no other trucks were available, so they completed my move two days later.
"There were damages like scratched walls and a large gouge in the dining room wall of the new house. A leg on a globe stand and the foot on a muffin stand were both broken off.
"There was a 2-inch chunk broken off the corner of a desk hutch, scratches on a file cabinet and a bookshelf, and a chair cracked in two places. Because none of the mattresses were covered, they ended up extremely dirty. There was also a grease stain on the fabric of my master bedroom bench."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'm asking for $800 from Millennium Movers to cover the damages to my furniture and walls."
RESPONSE: Patricia A. Ness, Claims Department, Millennium Movers
"In regards to our pack team, the head packer made the decision to use some of our materials as the materials stored in her basement were old. When I was told about some of the damages, I offered [the member] $150. To settle this, I will go to $200."
