Missing computers blamed on San Diego moving crew
COMPLAINT: Steven Winn, Poway, Calif.
"I hired Priority Moving - San Diego Movers and had items stolen during the move. The movers were told to not touch the computer and electronic equipment, and when my wife stepped out of the room to answer a question from one of the movers, she returned to find all the electronic and computer equipment missing - including two brand-new laptops. They accepted no responsibility and told us to report it to police and insurance.
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Priority to assist me in replacing the two new computers."
RESPONSE: Bryan Bloom, president, Priority Moving - San Diego Movers
"We take this allegation very seriously and investigated immediately, reviewing video footage from our warehouse and parking lot to confirm that no one in the crew came back with any possessions, and we searched the truck.
"Each member of the crew has been with us for some time with no prior issue of any kind. No one in the crew saw the computers and indicated that they didn't go into the room the member describes.
"We've communicated with the member and encouraged him to file a police report if he believes theft was involved and we would cooperate, but no report was ever filed.
"Although the time allowed under the law to file a claim has passed, we will still accept the member's claim and provide him coverage as per the level of coverage he selected on the contract."
