Dustup
COMPLAINT: Joseph and Alexandra Mayo-Cullen, St. Paul, Minn.
"We had all our wood floors refinished and our house was virtually empty. We wanted to move back into an entirely clean home and hired Merry Maids [1990 Christensen Ave., St. Paul] for the work. They were to clean the floors and windows upstairs; the living room, dining room, office and kitchen downstairs; and wipe away all the dust from the floors being refinished.
"When they were done, we found the stove wasn't very clean, there was dust on the walls, on the upstairs blinds and in our closets. They informed us that their work was guaranteed and to call if we were unhappy, so we did. The person who arrived was clearly irritated and asked what was wrong. She had been part of the team that initially cleaned the house, and said that things we said were missed were actually cleaned. She cleaned and was pleasant as time went by, but we didn't like having to defend ourselves. Furthermore, dust was wiped into our blinds, the closets were never dusted and we had to do them ourselves. We're extremely disappointed in the service."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "We'd like a partial refund of $70."
STATUS: Penalty Box
