COMPLAINT: Terence Welch, Quincy, Mass.
"I hired Milton-based Mark's Painting to paint interior walls, ceilings and trim. Their work was deficient and took longer than estimated. They finished less than half the job after having been paid for more than 90 percent of the contracted amount.
"They didn't fill nail holes properly or apply trim paint evenly. In addition, they left brush marks and dust in the finishing coats, as well as paint drops that ran down the exterior of windows. Then, they abandoned the job.
"I had to hire another firm to complete the job, which had to redo most of the trim work."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I would like Mark's Painting to return $4,200 to me."
STATUS: Resolved
Editor's note: Mark's Painting has dropped all billing claims against the member.
