That's askew
COMPLAINT: Thomas Hagood, Pembroke Pines, Fla.
"I hired Gold Coast Windows & Doors Inc. to remove two sliding glass pocket doors and a colonial-style picture window and replace these with missile-impact proof glass. The owner came to inspect and confirmed the doors were incorrectly installed and the left colonial window was hung incorrectly in the frame. He said he'd get right on it.
"Two months later I called them again. It took two more visits to get the doors fixed and the window is still not fixed. When they left, they said they'd be back the next day to take care of the window. Gold Coast told me the scheduling of the city's inspection would be managed through their offices.
"Thinking the city might of had a back log, I gave them time. When I called the city building permit office I found out the paperwork for my inspection has been waiting for Gold Coast to pick up for the past six months."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want them to fix the left colonial-style window so that it opens and closes correctly and provide a written affidavit for all items in the contract: workers, materials, and tax and a copy of permits issued."
STATUS: Penalty Box
