Los Angeles flooring project goes unresolved
COMPLAINT: Donna Meisenholder, Manhattan Beach
"Shannon Hardwood Floors submitted a bid for the living room, kitchen and hallway floors - approximately 500 square feet. It was estimated at $4,650. I deleted the hallway and [Ronan O'Lionain, the owner] was to deduct 50 square feet.
Penalty box
All American Moving Storage

Taylor Fine Portraiture
Failed to act on Linda Siggins' request for portraits she says she paid for but never received, or for a refund for those portraits. Second month in the box.
Isabell By Design
Never responded to Leeza Hoyt's request for items she says she purchased but were never delivered. Second month in the box.
Air Al Inc.
Didn't respond to Annette Kleeman's request that they return and explain, program or replace a thermostat she says is the wrong one. First month in the box.
Now he wants to credit me $7 per square foot for the hallway after charging me more than $9 in the bid. He also tried to bill me for 50 square feet under the cabinets where he didn't install flooring, but he claims he doesn't quote by square foot.
He didn't do a proper contract or accurate billing and refused to get a city license, which shut down my entire project for three days. He never did the final clean-up as promised."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I deducted the work not done - the hallway and space under the cabinets - the cost of clean-up that wasn't done as promised, and the cost of getting shut down from the original $4,650.
I want a final bill stamped as paid in full and any mechanics lien rescinded in writing."
RESPONSE: Ronan O'Lionain, owner, Shannon Hardwood Floors
"The member sent a check for more than $900 less than what she owed. There's no square foot price in the bid. The customer has determined her own price for this job after agreeing to our bid and after the work was performed. Our final bill did take out the hallway charge.
This house was undergoing remodeling, and it was the customer's project manager who didn't obtain a city license. We did tape off and clean up our work area. From other Angie's List reviews, you can see we perform quality work."
