Leaking refrigerator leads to Cape Coral flooring issue

COMPLAINT: Rachel Feigelman, Cape Coral, Fla.

"I bought a refrigerator from Sears at 4600 Park St. N. in St. Petersburg. The tubing to the main water supply in the icemaker and water dispenser was defective.

"I noticed water running from the back onto my newly-laid laminate flooring. Sears sent a technician, who installed new tubing. However, my flooring is rippled and the seams are coming apart as a result.

"Sears referred my complaint to the manufacturer, who sent me a letter of denial and said the problem was there wasn't enough room between the cabinet and the unit. Nowhere in all of the refrigerator's pamphlets or manuals does it say I've placed the refrigerator in too closed a space.

"The contractor who just finished my remodeling job has installed many refrigerators and surely would have said the space was wrong if that was the case, but didn't."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I have two boxes of laminate flooring. All I ask is that Sears have someone install it where the flooring was damaged."

STATUS: Penalty Box
