Leaking gutter issue unresolved in Louisville

Leaking gutter issue unresolved in Louisville

COMPLAINT: Marybeth Beard, Louisville
"Rob Rogers Construction Build & Handyman Service installed new 6-inch gutters on my house. They don't match the main gutter, and the corners leak.

[Rob Rogers, the owner] said the gutter corners don't come in the color 'putty.' Apparently, he tried to match the color, but it didn't work.

He installed them last year, and this year the gutter corners are still leaking. Last week, he called and said he wouldn't return [to repair them].

Many times, he had an appointment and I'd wait and he wouldn't show. I promptly notified Rob Rogers of the leaking gutter corners and he chose not to resolve the issue, nor did he suggest it was a manufacturer's defect.

Rob was subcontracted out by another contractor, but he should've addressed the problem with me so the final product was in working order. The contractor is making the necessary repairs to the corners."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want compensation for whatever costs I incur to have another company finish the job satisfactorily."

RESPONSE: Robert Rogers, owner, Rob Rogers Construction Build & Handyman Service
"The gutter corners were attached properly. However, 14 months later, the member claims the corner seams are leaking. This is a manufacturer defect and not due to installation.

The corner pieces come all in one piece, and they're not seamed by the installer. At the time of installation, the customer approved and accepted the slight variation in the manufacturer's color of corners and gutters.

Further, Robert Rogers wasn't the contractor. Please see the contract, as Robert Rogers worked for the contractor, not customer.

This report should be addressed by the contractor at his address on the contract. The personal attack by the member against Robert Rogers is unfounded and unjustified."
