Landscaper lacks response to refund request
COMPLAINT: Judy Brusslan, Indianapolis
"My husband hired John Held [the owner of R & J Tree & Landscape] to mulch our landscape, remove some bushes and trim a tree. We agreed the price would be $1,200 and the work would be completed on the next day.
"John Held and his employees arrived that morning and soon after, a man arrived with a truckload of mulch. John asked me to pay $200 for it separately, so I did. When John and his crew were finished, I paid him $1,200.
"Shortly after he left, I remembered I paid for the mulch, so I called John, and he agreed I had overpaid him. He said he'd be out of town over the weekend but he'd come with the refund later the next week. When he did not come, I called him again. He did not answer, so I left him a message.
"He did not call me back, so my husband called him a week later. John apologized and said he'd give us the refund. He didn't arrive, so I called again and he didn't answer. I left him a message that we were disappointed with his lack of response."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "We would like for John to return our $200."
