HVAC maintenance turns icy when unit fails
COMPLAINT: Frank Mack, Sarasota, Fla.
"I hired Unique Air Inc. to perform annual maintenance service. Less then 24 hours after they checked the unit and said it was working great, it was no longer working. They replaced two parts at a cost of $500, but the unit still didn't work.
"Unique Air came out again and told me an electrical surge fried the entire unit, and sent photos showing the damage. From the photos, it looks like the damage originated with the parts they replaced. Now they want me to pay an additional $5,000 to replace the entire unit. Everything was fine before they performed their annual maintenance."
DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I want Unique Air to cancel all invoices and billing to my account."
