What's the advantage of hiring a wedding planner for your big day?
Chaun Vaughn: "We deal with so many vendors on a daily basis, we're able to help negotiate pricing so we get great rates. We also help keep the small details straight."
Dawn Earley: "It gives the bride, her family and the wedding party a chance to enjoy a celebration they've waited their entire lives for."
Jo Ann S. Woodward: "Weddings have become so important, not only to the bride and her mother, but also to the groom. You want to get the best for your money."
How do you charge for your services and what's the cost?
Chaun Vaughn: "I have different packages. The most expensive plan is $3,500. Day-of coordinating is $1,150."
Dawn Earley: "We offer packages. Day-of services are $950. The more detailed packages can cost up to $4,500."
Jo Ann S. Woodward: "I have packages that are all over the board. It depends on the level of experience. A full package costs $6,500. Destination weddings are $8,500. A day-of package is $3,000 and a getting-started package is $1,000."
How many years of experience do you have?
Chaun Vaughn: "A little over five years."
Dawn Earley: "Eleven."
Jo Ann S. Woodward: "I've done event planning for 20 years and wedding planning for six years."
How far in advance before the wedding should a couple book your services?
Chaun Vaughn: "At least nine months to a year in advance, if not before then to secure facilities."
Dawn Earley: "We're booked out for the next year, and we won't take weddings more than a year and a half in advance. Most of our brides try to book between nine months to a year and a half in advance."
Jo Ann S. Woodward: "I prefer nine months to a year."
What makes your service stand out from what other wedding planners offer?
Chaun Vaughn: "When my brides contact me, I send a car to pick them up. They always get my stress-relief bag. I'm also very personable."
Dawn Earley: "We build a relationship with a bride and her wedding party and put them at ease. We get along with vendors while still advocating for the bride."
Jo Ann S. Woodward: "My brides feel like their wedding is the only one I'm planning. I cry at every wedding. And when I stop crying, that's when I'll stop doing this."
