Houston pastry chef bakes birthday cakes
Inspired by her love for making cakes, Smitha Alimeti attended the pastry chef program at Houston Community College and earned her degree in May 2007."I do most of the intricate work myself by hand," she says. "I love it. I can spend hours and hours on it without realizing time went by."
"Since then, my husband had her do a birthday cake for my 40th birthday," says Sabrina Nedwed. "My cake was so cute. The bottom was turquoise and brown polka dots and then the top was pink and brown polka dots. The top was a cosmopolitan with red Jell-O in it."

Description of work "Smitha [Alimeti, the owner] made a custom cake for my daughter's birthday party. My daughter chose the theme. I gave Smitha a picture of what she wanted and she made the cake from it."
Member comments "The cake turned out great and tasted awesome - it looked too good to eat. My daughter was very proud of that cake during her party. I was very satisfied, and I'll use her again."
